[Bloodlines 1.3.0] Crit AoF TTD Glacial Cascade

Hi there, and welcome to my latest build guide.

This build was originally meant for Freezing Pulse, but at around lvl60 I realized how good glacial cascade actually was.

I reached lvl95 with this build in the Bloodlines league and I can safely say it's hardcore viable. Dead at rank 50.

BRAG
Spoiler

The point of the build is to do massive fire damage that can shock through the use of The Three Dragons helmet. It is also an unnecessarily expensive build.

PASSIVE SKILL TREE

NON-CRIT Build
LVL94 (Oak-Kill-Kill)

This is how you should start playing this build, crit with AoE spells is point-wise very expensive.

For easy leveling, play burn prolif flameblast, the non-crit is almost identical to what you would do with Flameblast, I specced into this build at around lvl74 with a tree like this

The order I followed was:
1. Everything in shadow area
2. Road to EB (except Static Blows)
3. Everything in witch area except Fire Walker and Elemental Dominion
4. Path to Constitution (Scion Life Notable) except Inner Force
5. Everything in Templar area except AoF and Celestial Judgement
6. At the mid 70s I got Avatar of Fire, Static Blows and equipped The Three Dragons
7. Fill up Scion Life Wheel
8. Celestial Judgement
9. Fire Walker and Elemental Dominion
10. Inner Force
11. Either respec into crit, or grab the two cast speed clusters

CRIT Build
This tree is not only expensive point-wise but also resistance-wise, you'll struggle a bit. I had 80(80)/75(80)/75(80)/-40 resistances in merciless, I was very cautious around mobs casting Flamm/Eleweak and reflect.

LEVEL 95 (Oak-Kill-Alira)

At level 96, drop Blast Radius and grab Elemental Dominion
97, get Blast Radius again
99, drop it again and get Mental Rapidity
100, Blast Radius again

GEAR AND EXPLANATION

Weapon

A Pledge of Hands, Importance: REQUIRED

A PoH brings several benefits to this build:
*Massive increase to Spell Damage... from 120%-160%
*100% increased mana, paired with good ES pieces it gave me around 1,2k mana at my current level
*And obviously a 7L (with LVL30 SPELL ECHO!) that is otherwise impossible to achieve

Chest

A Cloak of Defiance, Importance: REQUIRED

A very obvious chest for hardcore league spell casters...
*Great amount of added mana and energy shield
*Mana Regen
*MoM!

Note: does not need to be 5L or 6L

Helmet

The Three Dragons, Importance: REQUIRED

Your entire damage is converted into fire through AoF, and with a TTD you can shock nearly every mob in the game, essentially 50% more damage from a piece of gear.

With the non-crit build, you shock through the use of "Elementalist" and "Static Blows", 20% shock chance is frankly enough.

With the crit build, you don't rely on those nodes, but on critting.

HOW TO UPGRADE:
*Get +2 to vaal gems in it, I only got as far as corrupting three perfect TTD, (enemies cannot leech, white socket, brick)

Belt

A Doryani's Invitation (Fire Version), Importance: REQUIRED

A decent amount of increased damage and elemental resistances, and your only source of life leech!

Amulet

This is a DPS only slot, you want the following in this order:
*Life
*Mana regen
*Critical Multiplier (if crit)
*Spell Damage
*Cast Speed
*Increased Energy Shield

Gloves

A pair of Maligaro's. You need at least 25dex on them and the highest multiplier you can get. This is the easiest piece of gear to get RRRR into (CWDT Setup). It will cost you around an exalt in chromes.

If you aren't crit, get some gloves with life and resistances.

Boots

You want the following here:
*Life
*Movement Speed
*ES (VERY IMPORTANT FOR CRIT BUILD, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DECIDE TO USE THE UNIQUE RING)
*Resistances

Rings

You want this:
*Life
*Mana Regen
*Resistances

Using a Berek's Grip is very optional but helps in several situations, like never running out of mana even under heavy fire or maps with half regen and using high level AA at the same time!

GEMS

Glacial Cascade
Goes into the Pledge

NON-Crit 5L: GC-Increased AoE-Concentrated Effect-Fire Penetration-Cold to Fire
NON-Crit 6L: Faster Casting

CRIT 6L: GC-Fire Penetration-Cold to Fire-Power Charge on Crit-Faster Casting-Increased AoE(swap with Critical Multiplier for bosses!)

Quality is important in Increased AoE, Faster Casting and Critical Multiplier

Auras
They go in your boots

Reduced Mana + Purity of Fire + Clarity + Herald of Ice

With Inner Force, PoF will grant you a larger amount of resistance and also +5% to max fire resistance

CWDT
Goes into your gloves slot

Self-explanatory, use whatever CWDT levels you want, I personally go for 12/12/12

Vaal Ice Nova
Goes into TTD

Vaal Ice Nova + Cold to Fire + Fire Penetration + Trap

Even with a LVL20 gem, this skill DECIMATES large shrines and boxes if it crits in a 6-man party.

Try to get one with quality

Try to get a +2 to Vaal Gems TTD

Other Stuff that goes into your chest
Empowered Arctic Armour, this gem is especially sweet when you have Inner Force, I will explain its MASSIVE importance later

Your curse... Eleweak for non-crit, Assassin's Mark for crit

Lightning Warp linked to reduced duration, faster casting is optional but I prefer a portal gem for QoL

Why AoF and Cold to Fire?
Reflect immunity through empowered Arctic Armour and high fire resistance, sometimes reflect will go through AA, but your normal life leech will prevent you from losing HP. Since we are using a cloak, you will also lose some mana when hitting reflect, this is another reason why Berek's Grip is so good for the build. If you let AA turn off, you will probably insta-die to reflect. With the crit build it is important to use a ruby flask to be safe.

This saves you 3 points to get Vaal Pact and a skill gem (Life Leech), we use Cold to Fire (30% cold damage added as fire!) instead of it.

Pyre is garbage because it wastes a ring slot where you NEED mana regen.

You also fully benefit from fire penetration.

Without video none of it means anything.

My upload speed sucks, but I might look into making short videos of it.
:^) Nice buil
I am a Mirror, I do not exist.
I only count 3 items with plus life. That's insane your going to have 3k like at best and get one shotted to crit reflect.

4800hp and 1200 unreserved mana.

As I said, I take 0 reflect damage, if you were somehow in the right I wouldn't have reached 95 in a hardcore league.
"Your entire damage is converted into fire through AoF"
The 50% from AoF and 50% from cold to fire, are they working properly or do they give diminishing returns? i mean does the second give like 25% because it takes 50% of the 50% cold dmg that's left or??
I would like to be sure before i try it out, but IF it works, i love it (:

In addition, it only converts 50% of the physical damage and 50% of the damage from herald of thunder, so you still lose a lot of dmg from AoF - i'm not really sure it's the best choice

Edit: Whoops - herald of ice ^^ My fault, but still the physical? Is it because your dmg is barely physical or?

Its additive, once you reach 100% then you are hard-capped, so to speak.

Converting to fire is completely crucial to the whole way the build works, if you didn't you would probably wreck yourself to reflect.

Its additive, once you reach 100% "physical to x" then you are hard-capped, so to speak.

100% physical to x? don't you mean cold or am i super confused atm. As far as i can see we don't convert 100% of physical, only 100% of cold?
