Brambleblus's Righteous Fire build

Here’s a map to Righteous Fire for anyone who wants it.

For those not familiar, Righteous Fire is a gem which gives you the Righteous Fire skill, burning you and enemies for a percentage of your maximum life (& giving you increased spell damage). This build works by increasing fire resistances beyond their normal maximum threshold and regenerating as much life per second as possible.

The knitty-gritty:

I use Elemental Equilibrium... Elemental Equilibrium is a notable node on the Passive Skill Tree. It makes things you hit with an element strong to that element and weak to other elements.

Let me break it down Barney style: hitting mobs with lightning makes mobs weaker to fire. Righteous Fire's damage does not technically hit the mobs--it applies a debuff--thereby never causing enemies to become tougher against fire damage.

Hitting enemies with lightning damage (Arc) while simultaneously hitting them with the Flammability curse via the Curse on Hit gem reduces enemy fire resistances dramatically. This lets you melt mobs.

I also use Glacial Cascade with Life Leech and a few gems you can investigate yourself below.

The build’s equipment: outside of the necessary Rise of the Phoenix shield, the build also runs The Blood Dance Sharkskin Boots. Here’s the equipment:

(Ideally, my wand would have Increased Fire Damage on it.)

The passive skill tree is straightforward. I guess it’s worth noting that Endurance Charges give me life regeneration, which is important (life regeneration is the pulse of the way Righteous Fire operates). You might notice I don't use Immortal Call; I don't feel the need to poof away my endurance charges.

Some more about this build:

- It can run lvl 74 maps with Enfeeble and Elemental Weakness (probably higher ones too), which is a feat with RF. The Frenzy charges (each gives +1% life leech per second, thx to the boots) and Endurance charges (each gives +0.2% life leech per second, thx to the passive tree) make this possible, along with.

- The Blood Dance Sharkskin boots are really effective. I recommend using them. If you already run RF, try them; you won't lose anything by giving them a shot. (They are very easy to get.)

Oh, and here are my flasks:

(Note: Now that flasks grant immunity during duration, I intend to replace the Ruby Flask with Remove Bleeding and to put increased armor on it.)

Thanks for posting, I have a Marauder sitting away that used to run RF until 1.3 reset so I might try your build.
You'd get more damage out of Righteous Fire with a scepter that has +Elemental damage and +Fire damage rolls on it. As is, your damage on Glacial Cascade doesn't make up for what RF could do - Along with elemental equilibrium, you're not using Ice Penetration on Glacial to make up for the loss.

Your health is also low from the passive tree at the current moment for a non-caster focused Righteous Fire set up, and you could also afford to use a few less regeneration nodes.

EDIT: Unless you're rotating your spells each cast. Arc to Glacial to Arc to Glacial, etc.

A fire immunity flask can be pretty handy when you need to pop RF off for some reason. Notable examples are when you need the extra regen (particularly if you run out of flask charges) or if you encounter some douchebag mob during a random map that wants to spam degen curses.
