This comment really warms my heart, i too found great joy playing like this and i always like whirlwind in D2. Remember the first time you got a bonesnap for lvling? :)

Slow response here since i am taking a break from poe. There's not really much i can comment on your gear it looks solid, except maybe you could do well with some different gloves.

The range is always debateable but.. there's just something about it that is hard to calculate.

Let me just put it like this: When you don't have range on your WW(EDIT: i mean cyclone.. ehem..) it feels hollow, i feel empthy and i feel i play something that is not rich, but shallow.

Is it needed? Nope.
Is it good? Yes.
Is it best? Very hard to say, i'd say it's a matter of taste, it comes that close.

The speed and the extra damage at full life are just a bonus, the weapon range is the primary reason to use it and the two resist nodes are very handy as well.

You would get better general AoE DPS, and more AoE too, if you swap Conc effect for added fire and enchance for faster attacks or weapon ele damage

Added fire is added issues, that elemental reflect can get nasty really quick with the size of the aoe, concentrated is safety and it stacks physical damage for mings and flask chaos added from physical, and it adds substantially more leech.

Yea, added fire + hatred and herald ash will make ele reflect dangerous unfortunately, i only suggested it because that enhance seems like its not worth the 32% AoE, have you tried faster attacks instead of it? maybe it would give better clear speed since your dps would jump up by quite a lot

Enhance gives 40% aoe radius in the axe, it's quite a bit, but yes, faster attacks is just as good.

This build is all about optimizing cyclone aoe, that's why i use every advantage this axe has in that regard, i see it as the pure way to use the axe, plus if you wanted max tooltip you would be going for a crit weapon and a completely different route.

When i originally made it, i just created a lolbuild and threw all aoe increases and expected no good result, yet it turned out it raped things without issues, gigantic areas at once. I fell in love. That's why i will not sacrifice any big range increases.

I farm with only 1 damage support in mf gear and im farming all maps, most of the time 75+ maps like that, and it's not feeling the slow in doing so either. The true value of increased aoe with cyclone is hard to quantify, but it's generally grossly underestimated, plus i know no other skills that benefit nearly as much as cyclone does.

It can reach an area that's.. well just off the top of my mind it was an area 24 or 28 times larger than the base area of a 2h axe cyclone... this build it really feeds of stacking aoe increases.

But yea, you can do faster attacks its roughly equal, it's too hard to me to quantify to know the perfect answer, for me it feels far better playing with larger aoe.
