[1.3] Scold's Self-Ignite - Over 200k dps on a 4L | All Map Mods + Atziri | Survivable and Cheap
" It's 2301 at level 20 resulting in roughly 580 Mana that needs to be spent. If you link Flammability to Increased Area of Effect, Inc Duration and Blood Magic it will cost ~250 Mana. So you would need to cast it three times. I see your point tho. Using Flameblast would be alot easier. |

what did i just saw

the concept is awsome.
I'm an coc caster, and I use the scold's with molten shell as a second attack, actually I think each build especially could use combination: scold's bridle+VMS currently my atk spd is 2.4, and just tried lower ATZIRI run, while the first time the queen had four copies, I started VMS, the VMS just killed the one of the copies in a sec, then I go to the queen herself while the VMS is still there, guess what? it bursted several and hit the queen to 1 hp! then it splited into 4 copies without any zombie stage. the dmg of VMS is so so so insane. A few updates to the build:
No atziri yet but it is almost confirmed viable. I haven't had any luck finding vaal molten shells with levels and it will take weeks to get some to level 20 at my activity rate. Health is 4452 and immortal call is 12 seconds at 5 charges now. In addition our resists are 83/79/79 with saffell's so we are quite strong against all damage sources right now. Vaal Pact is godly. Confirmed to be able to facetank double Palace lightning waves. Vaal Molten Shell hits for 25k a proc. We got Increased AOE and a swap to Ele Prolif for regular clearing since we're running it in a 5 link now, so we own maps like no tomorrow basically. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcp6eOn8Vn4 Here's a video of a perfect storm. is this build worth doing? id realy like to see a huge update with video of atzir kill

Hey, video of the atziri run is here! I messed up pretty badly, but there were no deaths and it only took 3 molten shells in total to down her. Total run was about 10 minutes, if I didn't pick anything up I would be faster.
Mistake made: forgot to take the curse-on-hit off my warlord's mark so I wasn't leeching on her some of the times, forgot to swap the position of lightning warp and warlord's mark so I casted lightning warp a few times I wanted to cast warlord's. Didn't keep track of my immortal call and molten shell timing so I had to do a swap in the middle of a fight. Last edited by Noperative#4469 on Feb 1, 2015, 10:54:35 PM

Surprised more people haven't taken note of this build - it looks really fun! Definitely going to be giving it a try :) Very clever use of mechanics!
Have you considered trying Shackles of the Wretched and temporal chaining yourself? This should provide 40% more duration onto your VMS, IC, endurance charges, and even flasks, but you will lose 20% cast/move speed. May not end up being better, but seems worth experimenting with. Shackles of the Wretched is good for a few reasons. It's basically more duration even accounting for the speed penalty and since you spec for duration passives the length of your temp chains is going to last forever. When clearing maps it means 100% uptime and you would probably use prolif for maps so you won't really have trouble with slower cast speed. Also it is super cheap, you can just buy a whole bunch and keep corrupting them to get either +2 vaal gems or cast speed or something.
However the speed penalty is too much for me to do atziri runs, my increased duration means that lightning warp takes forever so the only mobility you can rely on is just manually running away from flameblasts and stormcalls. Also doing maps with temp chains on permanently, while effective, is kinda boring so I have kinda avoided doing it for my own build. |

I figured the utility of it might be outweighed by being forced to run/cast slow as dirt :) Thanks for the reply!
