The Guild Alliance - A Co-Op Association of Guild Leaders

Sam, have you scheduled our first Teamspeak meeting of leaders for this weekend yet? If and when, please let us know. I think it would be best if we did it in the evening US times.
We encourage guild leaders to name up to two Officers as Vice Leaders to represent their guilds with them in the Guild Alliance.

I think it's more that we want to help improve the guild system, with little to no GGG support or Dev if possible, to show them that the guild system, here, has the potential to help with player retention, thus build the game's population, and increase profits, for GGG, so they can have more capital to play around with, as far as dev stuff. Then, maybe we'll get something, from them, in return, as far as guild system improvements. I can't speak for them, but as I keep saying, if it were me, I'd want to see something before I poured capital into development. I'm more than happy to give, first, and hopefully we come up with something impressive enough for GGG to smile at.

I've found this retention to be absolutely true, with my guild, which caters to newer players. A lot of new players will play this game for a day or two and get frustrated because it's not a simple game to grasp, at first. So, they leave and find something not so initially complicated. With a guild, who is willing to take on newer players, and help them get through that initial "wow this is a complicated game" part, we would retain players who would otherwise left.

If this underused guild system, we have here, is promoted and used more, especially by newer players, there would be more additional support, for players who might have quit and moved on, out of not getting the support they need to learn and progress, here. The players who've been here a while know that this game is very good. Once you start getting into it, you discover that, if you aren't already convinced coming out the gate, like I was.

Also, in the case of the more veteran players, it's a matter of having friends and players to party up with easier. Being in a guild provides a lot more positive social interaction, than global chat, too. If the leadership keeps guild chat as drama free, as possible, then it creates a great community with which to make friends, have questions answered, share or trade gear, etc.

I understand guilds aren't for everyone. Some players like to solo and whatnot. However, I feel the guild system, here, isn't even close to the potential it has to offer players, here. I, for one, would love to see that change, for the sake of the community. Plus, I think it would be very cool for us to help GGG, as fans.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

I couldn`t have said it any better. Good work!
Merry Christmas!

I would join my guild to the bunch but personally not a huge fan of private boards to discuss large game related convos. Gets to messy in my experience and already have a lot of other forums I force myself to deal with.

I understand your concern. Totally understandable. But there are three things to consider regarding the private forum:

1. This is what the co-op is about. We need a static private platform (an encounter point) to post and share guides and tips on how to manage well a guild and improve it. We can't do that in a public forum because is pretty obvious that soon or later we will find trolls, flamers, spammers and haters.

2. The main practical goal of the private forum is not only to share this knowledge but to arrange guild events and items trading among guild leaders (for our guild stashes). We can't do that in a public forum as explained above.

3. There are very well established and strictly guidelines to follow in that platform to avoid trolling, flaming, offensive behavior and drama among guild leaders. Of course, at the first sign of this kind of behavior the guild leader will be expel from the association.

This is what this arrangement is about, since there's no way to be part of it by just saying "I'm in" without accessing to the private platform to share guides/tips, arrange guilds events and negotiate items, which would mean to have no difference between a guild leader that is associated from one that is not.

Right now, all us the guild leaders in are totally sure that this is safe as it should be. Let us know anything in PM.

E: talk is cheap. sure if I won 200M GGG can have 5.

Except it's not just talk when I meant what I said. Sure, technically part of what I said is talk for now, but not to the point where part of what I said will remain talk forever. And so I don't understand your rolling of the eyes.
When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails.
Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism
does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect.
