My fight against micro (or macro) freezes

no that you shouldnt upgrade your gfx.. (as i play on my intel hd4000)

but you really could use a bit more ram also, you dont mention what o/s you have, im going to guess win7, you also dont mention if you have any ram slots left, hopefully you have 2 more, and put in another 2 sticks of 2 gig for 8gig total, of if you really were thinking about keeping this machine longer, and the board supports it, get 2 sticks of 4 gig, and then you can make a decent server out of it later.

priority? if you really only play games? get a better gfx card, then some ram, if you use your pc for more than just office and internet, get more ram, then gfx card..

if you can afford both, then you'll think you got a new PC
Things with "increased" and "decreased" in the tooltip are additive ... where as "More" or "Less" are multiplicative ...

It's not the ram, game doesn't touch half my ram. As people have stated, the game doesn't handle texture caching right on ATI cards.

Yeah i've seen that topic and i'd really like to try but i only have 2 memory slots and no access to a 2x4gb mem right now.

I have three systems, one with a fast SSD and an ATI graphics card, the others with slow HDDs and Nvidia cards. Guess which system hesitates on and off during combat. I think ATI drivers don't play nicely with PoE (in some cases? I've not heard from anyone that their ATI card *is* playing the game perfectly, but hey, maybe there is someone.).

I'd really love the SSD to solve that issue since it's a good "long-term" investment compared to a gfx/proc combo but my problem is when i'm seeing posts like that :

It looks like he has a similar issue, but he's having a SSD, tried with a ramdisk and still freezes.

I'm on Win7 64bits.
I'm using 3GB total when playing PoE.
I don't have any free mem slots.
I don't agree with your investment strategy.

* vsync on/off
* -gc1 -gc2
* --nosound
* windowed/fullscreen

I also monitored some stuff while playing :

Edit : I'll try the new ATI drivers this evening : http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst132BetaDriver.aspx

Those are not legacy drivers :'(
If you are having the same issue check this global ATI thread instead : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/142392
