Been progressing steadily, now at level 75 using a tabula rasa. Anyway i managed to 6 socket and 5 link the Voll's, it looks like this now:
Vorici's calculator says i should just throw chromes at it and pray for a quick surrender. But i also have the option of going for the 6th link first and then try chroming it. With this Voll's links, how would you tackle it?
From what I've gathered if your using a tabula, it comes in superior to a 5link volls since you can swap gems at will (life leech). Probably best selling it and starting another to try for a 6link.

I guess the main advantage would be to get power charges faster, but then i do lose some flexibility yes. And because of the 50% less mana i will not be able to run 3 herald's as i do now.
Why should i sell it though, unless for some quick profit? I have the same exact probability of 6 linking this Voll's as well as any other.
Actually i threw 2 chromes at it, and it's a bit better now, at least i can now run fireball + fire pen :) but without 2 blue sockets for cold spells it feels gimped... so close but no cigar.
Hey, I've been following ths build and I tried Atziri a few times to try and learn but I just can't get anywhere close to the DPS output that you have... Was wondering if you could tell me where I'm going wrong? I can do every map no problems, but I just can't put out the raw DPS single target for the Atziri bosses.
Here is my set up, my resists are 82/82/82 atm and when facing the Vaals I get one of them to maybe 1/2 to 3/4 hp before he disappears. When I get to trio I just get 1 shot. I'm level 76, so I know I'm underlevelled and I know I've got 1 hp node left before unwavering stance so I'll gain maybe 400 hp from that, but I have no damage nodes left to skill into, yet come nowhere close to what the guide shows in DPS.
I have 75% chance to hit at the moment, 2.1 attacks per second, 67.8% crit chance but with 6 power charges it goes up to 95%. My barrage has 2.3 attacks per second.
I'm going to pick up the ruby and topaz flasks for the help with resists on the bosses but my concern at the moment is that my DPS is nowhere close. Any help appreciated!

I tried upping my attack speed and it did indeed make the desync disappear(much like the Templar's pants). Can't say how much of an improvement it is to not have to hit my oos macro every 4 seconds(not even kidding).
How high is your Barrage APS now?
Went from 2.1 APS to 2.7ish. Basically, I just skipped all of the APS nodes to get below the 2.2 APS breakpoint. Adding them back in to kick out desync worked very nicely.
Would it really double the DPS with an extra 3 levels on them?
It won't double your DPS, but it will raise it quite a bit. For example, Fireball damage is 283-425 at lvl 17, for an average of 354 a pop. At lvl 20, it's 393-590 for an average of 491.5. The gem level makes a big difference.

Hey Zarlak,
I think these are the things you should upgrade to up your damage:
- Get higher levels on all main link gems
- Get a rare amulet with crit / critdmg / accuracy
- Get accuracy on rings
- Get a better Rats Nest (72+ crit)
Also it seems you leveled your enduring cry setup quite high. Maybe that could also be part of your problem on the trio.
