" Yes, this is exactly what i want to do. I dont want my character moving unless i use a movement skill or press my move-only assigned button. Holding shift or its rebound equivalent 100% of the time simply to keep my character from running amok during combat isnt a very appealing gameplay proposition, neverminding the potential rsi issues. A toggle would be much more elegant, and ive suggested such several times. Furthermore, the feature that force-moves a character into attack position when we click out-of-range monsters is also one of the main causes of desync- clientside im attacking a monster whos location has been improperly predicted, while serverside im running into a room full of monsters or whatnot with a big desync/resync teleport incoming. Being able to disable a large portion of potential desync situations with a simple option screen toggle would be a very welcome improvement. IGN: KoTao

It would be nice if the attack would cease once any nearby monsters are dead...but I emphasize nice and not necessary. In the realm of things I'd like to see change this one is pretty far down the list honestly.
We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

I just want my character to move (Within range) only when clicking an enemy, if the mouse button I'm using is associated with a skill/attack. If I am not clicking an enemy under such circumstances then I want to stay and attack from where I am.
Shift doesn't provide the same functionality as I describe. Shift stops you regardless of the enemy you are targeting being in range or not. The reason for this change is it resolves the issue of dancing back and forth around enemies you are misclicking/clicking near (instead of on) by accident. When you click next to an enemy the position of the enemy on screen relative to the mouse courser shifts as you move to where you accidentally clicked and the screen shifts to keep you centered, making it needlessly harder to re-target the enemy as you tend to overshoot where the courser should be while your character is walking to where you don't want them to walk to.
