Anti-desync Melee Build Theory Crafting

The best desync-resistant builds are those where damage done is initiated serverside instead of clientside. Builds like summoners and totems. If you see your flame totem firing, it's the server telling the client to fire the totem. If the totem is next to a monster and not firing on the client screen, you'd know immediately either the totem or monster is out of sync. Also, even when a monster is out of sync on the client screen, it will still be properly "killed" on the server side when it's in range, and eventually update on the client. Tada, desync-proof.

The toon itself still can "teleport" into a mob two rooms away, but the stop-n-cast playstyle makes it a lot less likely than a constantly moving build (eg melee).

On the other end of the scale, any build that requires precise and timely positioning is extremely desync prone. The melee builds fall into this class. The smaller the range, the worse the situation. The single target-no aoe type is almost unplayable, depending on which part of the world you're in and to a certain extent, what time of the day.

Since I'm from SEA, I guess this is now the reason to switch to Garena huh? maybe there's less desync there for me.

You do know you can just type Singapore into the gateway dropbox to connect to the hidden singapore gateway that GGG has, right?
Probably shouldn't be a build that stuns or freezes mobs either. I have a GMP Ice Spear caster and it makes mobs desync like crazy for some reason.

Stop playin the meta you fucktards, youll be fine. The last three builds of the week have been builds Ive been perfecting for months, I just dont trade, so I dont have uber gear like them.

If you spend time thinking up something new, its good. My CODT guy is pretty much invincible for instance

and he can only do damage by getting punched in the face.
HAIL SATAN!

Yep I know. My ping there is 150-200ms, spikes real bad on peak hours. I'll post here once I get to install this "Garena Plus" + PoE combo.

Great, my first HC character was that nicely detailed Facebreaker Duelist Build Guide. But interestingly, I didn't notice any desync much (I ripped bec of a noob move I made), or maybe I've forgotten if any.
SRS/Totems/Summoners, these builds requires to cast skills not less than 3 to cast, not my playstyle.
I actually played these builds:

I hope a ranged character that doesn't target a single monster is in the middle of the scale. Like Poison Arrow. I hope Ground slam is okay too - since I really want a melee character.

You resync when you're stunned iirc, so US doesn't help with desync, on the contrary...

US + IR eliminates the need for client/server to debate on evasion right? Likewise, debate where your toon was stuned. So it would still help in then end,, right? But, up to what extent, that I don't know.

I didn't read all posts. But totems, massive AOE skills (spectral throw + gmp + super fast attack speed) usually pretty much ignore desynchs. Add piercing to ignore it even further.

Problematic builds:
- Single target fast melee builds
- Concentrated effect gem + melee
- 4/second leapslamming
- And basically just any fast clearing melee builds without a large aoe. Because You leapslam from one pack to another for fast clear, desynching non-stop.
I'm talking about FAST melee builds. Those desynch. Poor people and crap-builds don't count.
- Builds that move monsters (King of the Hill passive) and such can cause MASSIVE desynchs to mobs. Even placing them in completely different rooms or unconnected rooms or in the opposite direction (should not be possible but okay).

Note that CoC does not cause any extra desynch at all (not sure about a full coc party). It's only problematic for people with crappy PC's, badly configured PC's, or people who stream or just have bad internet in general.

Note that raging spirits can also suffer from desynch! They hit the mob, but the mob takes no damage. Then you use /oos and the spirits and the mob will synch again and the mob will die. But it's usually not a problem for SRS because it's uncommon and the server detects it within a few seconds usually. But it does lower your dps a tiny bit.

Ok, I've finally made my very first skill tree = see original post.

Edit:
Also, updated tree:
Now 104 points, removed marauder start nodes and took scion life wheel

Hmmm. seems like 2H build is at a disadvantage on survivability.

I might just go Reave 1h and a shield. Or dual wield? I wonder how Reave is with Daggers and Claws.

If you want a build that can survive being desynced hard, play a summoner. Sure, the summons may cause some additional desync issues, but since the minions are all server-side, your DPS will keep on going regardless.
