Until today, there was not even my posts on this forum from this account. I do not have a local network in which I could share the client or setting. Just as I do not have a router. Submit a screenshot of VPN connection or photo of notebook with Ethernet cable? I don't visit any fishing sites. Posting my browsers history? Even my mail can not crack. There's a two-step authorization with confirmation on the mobile phone (gmail). I'm not doing anything that could lead to steal the password. And any of these points can prove and confirm. I'm a programmer and I know what is information security. And on my computer there are such things, a loss which I lose a decent amount of money. And also there is data of accounts, the loss of which I will lose even more money. So my Arch Linux in fact is almost perfect protection. And I observe every precaution because it is a habit. I understand the people who are skeptical. I have felt the same in other games when hearing of similar events. I have always taken steps to insure account security, but this is the first time I've ever experienced a compromised account. I'm not here to blame anyone, but I feel it's important to inform people of these situations so they can be investigated properly to be sure there is no security breach.
I will continue to play because I'm loving the game, but it sucks to lose everything I've accumulated so far. I have not downloaded anything or even traded/partied in game. I have not clicked any suspicious links or logged in when it wasn't necessary. The only thing I know of that I could have done was use the google chrome extension PoE Helper. Perhaps there is some compromise in it that has gone unnoticed. |

" Being a programmer does not mean you know computer security, as someone who actually works in IT security. You are obviously doing something wrong, because you are getting your information stolen. Maybe a large part of the problem is your arrogance that you have "almost the perfect security" for your system. Thinking like that will only make you take stupid risks and think you are invincible. |

Keyloggers and things of that nature can run without administrative rights. Its why Mac users are seeing an uptick of crapware/maleware in recent years. They don't have the infect the whole system. Just annoy a user on a single account.
No system is totally secure. And never will be unless unplugged from the wall and network and buried in several feet of cement. Vengeance of the Fallen

All my programs or installed from the official repository, or I compiled it from official source code. I was more interested in other things. Why it was necessary to delete the character? If they would like to steal something - it would be understandable. But nothing has been stolen. All that was in stash - there remained. Simply delete the character. Why?
