Bino Crit ST (no lmp/gmp)
I have been fooling around with builds that does not cover area with their main attack, but still clear packs as fast as AoE builds. Here is my Shadow Bino Crit-ST build.
Skill Setup
5L: Spectral Throw - Cast on Crit - Etheral Knifes - Faster Attacks - Power Charge on Crit (6th link: Projectile Physical Damage)
CwDT OR CwStunned - Enduring Cry - Immortal Call - Frost Wall Whirling Blades - Faster Attacks - Summon Zombie - Minion Life Reduced Mana - Discipline/Purity of Lightning - Hatred - Herald of Ash Clarity - Reduced Mana (optional) - Herald of Ice (optional) Arctic Armor - Lightning Warp - Assassins Mark
Gear
Passive Tree & Bandits
So this is a CoC build after all? Actually it is not. Most CoC build utilize through LMP/GMP and they do not rely on ST damage for DPS. This builds single target DPS comes from ST and EK; while its pack clear comes from EK, HoA ignite, Bino Poison and HoI shatter. I just aim the strongest mob and ignore rest, they die on their own. Ok but why not LMP/GMP instead of CoC+EK? While it may seem like I am wasting 2 sockets to do the work of a single LMP/GMP, I realized that pack clear speed is good enough one way or the other. However when it comes to killing boss/unique mobs LMP/GMP is just gimping my DPS as ST can not shotgun. So long story short, instead of having %70 or %50 base damage vs single targets; I keep my %100 base damage and top my single target DPS up with a nice EK boost without losing AoE coverage. Why EK? EK benefits from almost all passives and supports/auras I invest in my ST setup: projectile damage, physical projectile damage, physical damage, Hatred, HoA, HoI. Also it does not need any other supports for AoE coverage, it is good enough as it is. Also physical spell means I do not need curses/supports for elemental penetration. What's the deal with Zombies? I have no minion passives. So why bother for 3 zombies that will die instantly? Well the thing is they hold ground against regular packs due to your strong Discipline Aura (for EB) and Bino's heal. And when they die, you know that they saved you from a messy situation. How do you run Discipline+Hatred+HoA+HoI+Clarity? Numbers dont add up? If I want all of them I use. Otherwise I can run PoL+Hatred+HoA+HoI+Clarity with Rats Nest, or run Discipline+Hatred+HoA+Clarity. Are your defenses good enough? Against Physical I have almost max lvl AA and Lightning Coil with 80 or 85(PoL) Lightning Res. Also in my CwDT/CwS setup I run EC after IC so I have 3 EC charges before next burst giving another %12 reduction. I can AFK before most machinegun mobs. Against Elemental I am cautious. Fire is generally not problem due to 80% res + AA, but Flameblast is still scary as hell. Cold is not a big deal if I am using Alpha as I dont fear freeze, otherwise I kite carefully. Lightning is also ok~ish with 80-85% res and Topaz flask. Also %25-35~ spell block from Saffell reinforce my defense. I have 3 life flasks, 1 granite, 1 topaz. All surgeon of course. Great mobility with WB and LW. I leave chill trail with AA. So kiting is pretty easy. I think I also need to point out Frost Wall in my CwDT/CwS setup. It forces mobs to repath, giving me enough time to finish them off or get away. And ST pierces through wall so I sustain my DPS over it, while mobs try to gain LoS. Annnd it brings us to Chaos Damage. I just ran away from that, dont run maps with chaos bosses. It just wipes me out. Is it fun? Hell Yes! I enjoy it so much, because I find auto AoE skills boring. AoE skills work with same power regardless of your positioning/targeting. But with this build I can up the effectiveness by better positioning and targeting.
