BroShot Ele TS + SA + 3 aura, cheap and effective for solo and party play, variation of Buzzsaw
Intro
The general idea of this build is to create a fast and effective solo farmer/group player viable for the less rich population of this game. It is also a very good first character potential to accumulate wealth and experiences. I've tried a couple of builds, my currently active characters are: Crit dagger flicker, Ball lightning witch, Two handed duelist flicker and this one, which started off using the elemental buzzsaw spectral throw build http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/690708 (still heavily inspired by the build tree). The reason I stopped using spectral throw is because the damage simply takes too long to fully land on the mobs and therefor slowing down my clear speed for what's in my opinion a good farming speed. In my experience the high damage builds tend to aim for physical crit, which often requires stats such as crit chance, crit mutiplier, accuracy. Items with these stats are therefor very expensive and not suitable for the less wealthy population, at least not to start off with. This build provides reasonably high damage with fast clearing speed and can be very effective for both solo and group farming. This build is not tested in end-game against other viable builds, it simply is viable and enjoyable to play and farm at least to 80 without problems Basic concept

Take advantage of Tornado shot's quality of being a decent AOE skill and potent single target damage, this attack will serve in most situations without the need of a specific setup for single target. Tornado shot also has very good burst potential to clear fast. To use tornado shot to it's full potential i recommend you to watch this short video of the targeting mechanism https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfbSjj7I-ck Bypass all the critical nodes/accuracy nodes by taking Resolute technique, this simplifies the choose of nodes to focus on the more necessary stats - damage and survivability Using the reduced mana nodes in combination with Alpha's howl to run at least 3 auras, benefitting yourself and the whole group More to add in progress Required Gear

- 5l armour or bow, armour is probably cheaper since the stats on the bow is more important. - Alpha's howl, this is only necessary to run the third aura, and it is less relevant until you're at least level 60 - A bow with about 200 elemental DPS, this is rather cheap in my experience (got one 233 edps for 1c and 205 edps for 5c) The alpha's howl is going to be the biggest investment, but as mentioned it is not necessary until later in the game and two aura is more than enough for early/mid game dps. The bow is cheap enough however there are not many for sale, the elemental bow does not seem to be a popular sell item, which also results in it's cheap price. I managed to buy two edps 200+ thicket bows (1.55 attack speed) within two days for under 6 chaos combined. I recommend to search for such a bow during leveling up, and if you can't find chaos simply farm to get orb of fusings from vendor. Useful links Always use this link to search for gear, watch the short tutorial and get comfy using this for trading www.poe.xyz.is Use this if you're in doubt of the values of each orb, the best is still to keep an eye out on trade chat to learn the newest trend of ratios, but this is a good place to start http://poeex.info Use the wiki to find all the informations you need in game, gem quality effect, unique item list, status alignment conditions ect. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Path_of_Exile_Wiki Pros
Spoiler
- Cheap, my whole set is gathered for under 1-2 ex (certain lucky self found rares not included) - Tornado shot is suitable for both single target and AoE clearing - Good damage, burst comparing to Spectral throw, fast run speed, suitable for most non-end game farming - Great contribution to group, can buff most builds in party - Leaves certain flexibility to spells (due to it's not 100% finished and tested for end game yet) - Rather generic but early game - can continue into various builds in case of change of heart Cons
Spoiler
- Tornado shot requires targeting mechanism to reach optimal result - Not exactly competitive against high crit phsycial builds in damage, however you can buff them with more damage - Not much atm, will keep testing to find more weaknesses (feedback are more than welcome) - Cannot crit to apply the status alignments of the elementals, this is imo the biggest drawback since i love shock and freeze - this also leaves an unconfirmed use of herald of ice, I'm almost certain that it is not possible to shatter the mobs which means the AoE effect is not proc'able in this build - sadly Stats at current level
Spoiler
At level 75 currently, running Wrath + anger + haste on level 19 (bonus from Alpha's included) Currently have 2500 life pool Tornado shot is doing 6500 dps These 3 auras easily up any group members' dps by 1000-1500 depending on their elemental damage amplification. Gems and links
Spoiler
Current setup Main attack Tornado shot + Blood magic + Greater multiple projectile + Faster attack + Weapon elemental damage - Exclude faster attack if using 4L, blood magic is necessary because of the reserved mana pool and weapon elemental gives the highest bonus damage - On 6L i'd add life leech for a life quality upgrade, also opens huge space for flexible secondary attacks or survivability setups Support Split arrow + Chain + Curse on hit + Warlord's mark This provides the life leech on a huge area of mobs, more than enough to keep you alive (unless you try to facetank the bosses) Trigger Cast when damage taken + Enduring cry + Immortal call + Increased duration Make sure to learn about the mechanism before using this. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Cast_when_damage_taken Get this as soon as possible will greatly improve survivability, remember to keep the levels of the gems under control according to the machanism, when in doubt, ask in general chat. Aura Wrath + Anger + Haste + Reduced mana This is over half of your damage, before you get alpha's howl or is able to run 3 aura's you can leave Haste out. But once you get haste running the clear speed will significantly improve. Flexible secondary(Optional) Elemental hit + Faster attack + Weapon elemental damage + Blood magic (possible to add + Life leech + Added fire damage/whatever your imagination takes you) I'm experimenting with elemental hit but this is not necessary as mentioned the single target damage is more than sufficient on Tornado shot. Flexible variations on main attack In some farming maps(Typical lower level runs - ledge, mud flat, docks) I find it annoying to aim all the time with Tornado shot, therefor I switch the main attack out with following combination (The socket colours do not change so it's a matter of switching skills) Split arrow + Blood magic + Chain + Faster attack + Weapon elemental damage as this link allows you to clear easy mobs faster, providing that you have enough damage. In this setting I tend to use Tornado shot + greater multiple + whatever you like OR Elemental hit combinations to burst rare mobs down Passive tree
Spoiler
Similar to the buzzsaw build as you can see, some of the survival nodes such as phase acrobatics and ondar's guile can be excluded if you have decent life pool, in that case the whole bottom right tree can be flexible to add to somewhere else. Any feedback/critics are more than welcome as I'm developing myself and learning more and more about the mechanisms This is the tree to aim for in endgame, the reduced mana nodes in the top left is necessary for third aura, otherwise pick whatever you feel like first. https://poebuilder.com/character/AAAAAgYARXyXl_v1tDjlGYw2VUth4iaVFr8DHh9B_5NR2bCSD6tTNZu1OkJLeN2oMHHUIwW16NYi6taKfyswfFFHjb_B2KiiqvhW-nfXEYHdRmOnSn2Hdmeg_MVKyD8nKk2sR31btfJuqti9NZL-Csautz582XKprKon7cT2PC3AGlnzd-VX4uw4GjinhJBVAnEEszKJogAUTfAfFy_60maegKRV1mTn42o26YKbKU-DOO98i4yf3zwFRtftIOFzFm8kqoMJb57KSlFMwzoaj_ba-wkZisSilwYtgw== Current gear
Spoiler
Boots, belt and gloves are self found, armor is cheaply crafted with alchemy. Bow is bought for 5c, Alpha around 20-30c, forgot the price for rings and amulet, fairly certain none of those are above 5c. The day after i bought the first bow i found this one for 1c on poe.xyz.is Conclusion is these are not expensive, but these were the only bows showing up with >200 edps other than Volataxis which is significantly expensive so might take a few days to hunt for a cheap one. Leveling
Spoiler
Due to the inspiration source of this build - Elemental Buzzsaw Spectral throw, this build can easily transform back into ST if you enjoy it more than Tornado shot or Split arrow.
There are different ways to play the early levels: - Use a generic bow build, whatever you can find works - Use the leveling guide on Buzzsaw's build - My favourite is to use a simple flicker strike setup for fast rushing (certain cheap uniques will speed up the process) More detailed guide to be added Last edited by Junqing#1851 on Oct 1, 2014, 1:23:34 PM
