[2.5 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: Dual Flame Totem, Blood Magic Chieftain [Atziri & HC/SC Viable]

Whats the best weapon to use early in the game? Since u wont have enough INT to carry any wands as a marauder. Atm i dont have my ancestral bond (lv 22), so i'm struggling with 1 totem and molten strike, carrying a axe.

Craft a +1 to fire gem sceptre.

1 Magic Sceptre + 1 Ruby Ring + Orb of Alteration

And we'll all be here watching as you're falling down to Earth."
This is a good build but it feels outdated because cwdt setup doesn't work anymore.
I'm using dual flame totem build and I had started as a Scion.
My planned tree: http://tinyurl.com/pb89e3r

Currently I'm level 53 in Act 3 Cruel and I haven't encoutered any problems. Damage is very high.
Do not use wands at start. At start use sceptres, they will add you some elemental damage and after level 15 try to find Quartz Sceptre(they are great if you lack int to wield wands) which gives 20% elemental damage at use +1 fire gems recipe, on flame totem link faster casting + fire penetration and you don't have to worry about damage output.
Soon I will be entering merciless and I'm planning to make 5l (flame totem+faster casting+fire penetration+iron will + added chaos damage). And for more efficient damage dealing I'm planning to use Abyssal Cry. It is true that Flame totems cost lots of Mana but with enough mana points and mana regen I think it is possible to sustain that. For defense I think that Hp, hp regen , armour and resistances will do the job.

Guys, what do you think about my tree and ideas. Please tell me if I can improve my build.
Love this build great job! Me and my friend are starting warbands playing this together, our question is how did you gain enough int to use apep's on marauder? Did you just stat int on items?

I agree, craft 2 of these. Dual wield sceptres...

For early game...
Sceptre 1: Flame Totem + Faster Casting + Faster Projectiles (Fire Pen or Iron Will).
Sceptre 2: Flame Golem + Life Leech + Minion/Totem Elemental Resistance.

I ran the above setup up until about lvl 50 then switched to a four link flame totem.

You need +30 int node early, then focus on int itmes in endgame. North part of build got more int, so it's getting easier with time. Currently my 92 lvl flame totem marauder use only one +30 dex node, got enough int from items.

Same for me. I only need the 30+ dex node. Everything else is obtained through gear =)

Question: Why not take Elemental Equilibrium? Wouldn't it be a huge damage boost?

You could trigger EE with traps or am i wrong?
Hey guys,

i was trying to find a flame totem build that doesnt use BM, looks like noone tryed?

Isnt oath/EB fine to sustain high mana cost skills right now?
It would offer free auras cause auras on BM are a real problem in HC i think.

if someone tested a nonBM build and want to share it i'd love to see it.

Still great guide even if i hate BM builds.

Edit : didnt see vrcek build, looks interesting but i was more thinking of a EB/oath build but the loss of hp regen may be a problem.

Traps (cold or lightning) would trigger EE and make the monsters take more fire damage, however with just the first "tick" of the flame totem attack it would make the monsters resistant to fire.
