[1.2] AmpBurrrrrrr's NON CRIT Cold Witch

Hi guys!!!!

So this is actually my first legit caster build I ever made, but I figured with the new tree why not?

The idea for this build came from all the freeze chance nodes I noticed on the skill tree.

So I'm thinking, how can I do something new with cold that doesn't involve perma crits (Freezing pulse and ice spear I suppose) so I was like Glacial Cascade looks cool!

Anyway

Current Stats are:
3.7K Life
3.7K Mana
219 mana regen a sec!
Tool Tip DPS 3.6K (actually ~7.2K glacial cascade will hit monsters twice with one cast so I think you double what it says since it hits them twice with a little AoE increase)







As we can see on the tree we grab ALL the freeze chance nodes, yes all of them, its actually not hard and theres ton of other good stuff around, life, aura nodes, etc., primary defense will come from AA and freezing everything. You get so much freeze chance that freezing things, will actually be your main defense, even against bosses.



Ok so the breakdown goes like this:

Weapon: get as much spell and cold damage as you can here, doesnt matter, scpeters, wands, whatever
Shield: mostly defense here, spell damage secondary, resists and lots of mana and ES are what you are looking for
Helm: resists, HP, ES, IIR
Boots: MS, Resist, IIR
Gloves: resists, cast speed if you can get it helps here, HP, ES
Ammy/Rings: any mix of resist, hp, es, mana, mana regen, IIR, cast speed as needed
Chest: This build was doing fine for me on a 4L until I got a 5L, go for carcass jack for damage boost, otherwise anything that gives ES, HP, Resists

Gem set ups:

Main skill: Glacial Cascade - Cold Penetration - Life Leech - Elemental Proliferation (THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT GEM FOR THIS SETUP, USE ABOVE ALL OTHERS) - Spell Echo for your 5L

Auras: Use whatever you need if you're lacking resists like me, go purity, if not run hatred for extra cold damage, I also run Purity of Fire for even more defense against fire on top of AA, Clarity is a must for this build however!
and Herald of Ice, not technically an aura but run it anyway! All with reduced mana!

Vaal Skills!!!!!!!

These are actually important and will help you kill most bosses with ease. Use Vaal Cold Snap followed by Vaal Summon Skeletons when in range of bosses, what usually happens is the Vaal Cold snap slows everything down and the Vaal skeleies give you meat shields, at this point you can usually perma freeze a boss by proliferating freezes from the surrounds mobs!

I changed the skill tree a bit. Not sure if it'd help or hinder your build but I gave it a try.
You can still pick up some more health nodes and if you want you can also get Sovereignty. Depends on what you need. Can also easily be transformed in a crit build since all the nodes are in range.

These are obviously not HC builds since the health % is too low I think. Don't know what it's like in practice but I'd assume so.
