Hmm, that means that Vaal Pact is completely useless for this build, doesn't it? We lose 60% of the leech amount and cannot outleech the damage anyway.

Unless we use items like Cherrubim's Maleficence.

And even if VP would leech close to the damage reflected, is the instantaneous leech effect applied after the damage is dealt? If so, If I (theoretically) have 1900 HP, receive 2000 damage and leech 2100, I am dead before the leech applies.

I am just trying to test these things and am a bit disappointed with Vaal Pact, which I understood was listed as the solution to reflect in the original post.

Yes, you will be dead before the heal start.

From the first post:

1) Have a pool of 3500+ HP to soak through the damage
2) Have a instant-flask ready and use jade flasks to improve your chances
3) Use atziri's promise to take mobs down faster and leech yourself back
4) Use a 1-2 CWDT clusters with Enduring Cry/Immortal call/Increased duration. Run two clusters if needed. Also keep firing if your CWDT setup lasts long enough.
5) Have at least 45% evasion, ondals guide, acrobatics and phase acrobatics
6) Don't use lionseye with reflect maps
7) Don't try to bring your accuracy into insane levels. You want 1500-2000 accuracy. Not less, but not more either.
8) Alternatively: use vaal pact.

As you can see, the vaal pact is the last option. I think the best idea to deal with the reflects maps is to go slowly with puncture traps or to avoid it. Alternatively, you may use some utility shot like ice/fire or even poison arrow.

Also you can use the physical to lightning gem.

Another thing you can do is to stack life, in many cases you can survive with +-4k and then use a instant life flask. Happened to me thousand of times and i haven't died since lvl 7X.

Reflect is always a problem with you have huge dps, is hard to deal with it, there is not a method to bypass every defect :(
With proper flask management and adaptation of skill gems according to map mods, this build can do any mods if out know how to prepare. Ele reflect? Switch out Hatred with Grace, pop Atziri flask when firing into huge packs, problem solved. A bit less dps yes, but with proper gear its not a big nerf to clearspeed. Phys reflect map? Swap out PcoC gem with physical to lightning gem, combine with atziri flask against large mobs and evade flask, and you will survive. There is no other class that can adapt so widely with skills as the phys/crit bow wielder imo. Blood Magic? Run only 1 Herald. No mana or life regen? Leech is enough, bring mana flasks as backup. The combinations is almost endless, its the players lack of game skills that is the biggest hindrance here.

About Vaal Pact- I tried it and it seemed worse than normal leech; because I had to little leech % or not idk. So I switched back. On the other hand, when these babys dropped from Uber and I equipped them; oh'boy what a night and day difference in survivability. I could facetank beyond bosses in ele wkns 78 Courtyards.

would power charge on crit be a better option than increased critical damage in your 5th linked slot?
if u run lik 5-6 power charges its insane right? or is it overkill to invest in power charge on crit? thanks

Not really worth it to specc into it, since charges only give you crit chance. That's why you try to get some charges via cursing. They are more "icing on the cake" than necessary. Try to get a decently high crit chance (60+) and use crit dmg gem. You are better off than spending a buttload of skill points into charges.

You can also try to get something like that

Can be expensive tho and you need more int.

Actually never thought about Phys to light :D. How did i ever get to lvl 92?! Thx mate. And gz on Acu.

I actually find Vaal Pact nice. Reflect is a little easier to handle and with decently high phys dmg you practically never need your flasks. This way you can easily run just 1 life flask, atziri, hate, quicksilver, jade. Well you also can with Acuities, but those are not crossed off my list yet :)
Does anyone have tested Boots +1 to gems with empower 4 in and Hatred+Herald ? I wonder if we can get extra dps boost with lvl 26 Hatred and herald (with lvl 21 gems in in setup with emp4)
I know that many players said that - but I want say it too... Thank You, the author for that build.

Ranger is my second character in PoE. At this moment I've got 72 lvl and it's still growing. I don't have even a little problems with low lvl maps, dailies rotation etc. Moreover, I really enjoy the way and quality of playing ranger - it reminds me Night Elves race from Warcraft 3 - Strike and run :)

Summing up - the title of this topic "noob friendly" is 100% true. If there will be a possibility of donating specific players - u've got my money mate :)

I wish u a lot of better and ofc more popular builds like this.

Thanks.

Sorry but if that's a serious question I doubt you should play this spec on bloodlines ;)

Physical reflect is of course dangerous to a physical crit build. Methods to avoid dying to it are in the author's thread and were also discussed widely throughout the thread AND on this very page you've posted. Read it :P

@ djerimixer226090:

This is a physical spec, empowering auras is GG for ele specs. And I don't think the damage boost would even be that high, if at all because we would have to drop one herald.
Not to mention the crazy investment it would require, so not worth it.

That build is ridiculous, I got 13k Tooltip dps with self found gear and i cut trough lvl 75 maps like a warm knife trough butter. And my resists are not even capped. And this build is also HC viable, only few times I died was because of lags when I open a chest. But I avoid phys reflect maps..
