[1.2.1] Grocery's Split Arrow/Elemental Hit Crit Bow Build!

THIS IS NOT A CHEAP BUILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to make sure this is the first thing people saw when they opened this thread. This is not a cheap build. I make most of my builds to be fun, that’s why most people play games anyways! This is meant to Farm maps and regular Atziri. This will not solo Uber Atziri. It can be run as a Ranger as well.

This build is relies heavily on Windripper’s awesome crit chance and Split Arrow/Elemental Hit. It is very similar to Mathil’s build in 1.1. Since there has been a new patch, a few things have changed, and the build has not been updated, I figured I would throw out what I am doing with this build. I wanted to pay homage up front first so people don’t get at me later :)

The gist of this build is get a Windripper, get a ton of crit chance, crit multiplier, IAS, power charges and go nuts with Split Arrow and Elemental Hit.

In my current gear with charges I sit at about 62k DPS on Ele hit and 22k on Split Arrow. I hit about 75k with Ele Hit and 26k+ on Split Arrow when I pop Atziri’s Flask. I run Anger, Wrath and Herald of Ice in an Alpha’s Howl. I do not have level 21 Aura’s just yet, so the damage still has a bit to be improved upon.

If you want to run a bit safer, this is a standard build not a HC build so I do not do this, you can take aura nodes to run Grace over Herald.

Please note that you can use Voll’s through most content. It gives you the bonus of not using Assassin’s Mark. I went with this new chest a few days ago because I wanted more HP and Assassin’s Mark is excellent. On Atziri normal, I think you probably want the life. You will have a few seconds with charges up from the adds anyways.

You do not need Atziri’s Acuity. If you do not have them, which most will not, you can go ahead and pick up Vaal Pact. I did this build quite easily without Acuity and Vaal Pact and relying on Ondar’s/Acrobatics along with potions, but I like to be safer. That being said, if you can get a hold of Acuities, then you will save yourself at least 10 points on the tree that can go towards more damage/HP.

If you do not have Acuties, go ahead and pick up rare gloves with some res/life and damage rolled on them. If you can afford to get all your res/hp on other items, pick up Maligaro’s, they are still awesome for this build.

Gems:
Split Arrow > Blood Magic > Life Leech > Chain (4 Link Setup) > Weapon Elemental Damage (5 Link Setup) > Increased Critical Damage (6 Link Setup)

Elemental Hit > Blood Magic > Life Leech > Weapon Elemental Damage (4 Link Setup) > Increased Critical Damage (5 Link Setup) > Faster Attacks (6 Link Setup)

Auras: Wrath, Anger, Herald of Ice/Grace with Reduced Mana

Cast on Damage Taken > Enduring Cry > Immortal Call > Decoy Totem

Assassin’s Mark > Enfeeble > Blood Magic > Faster Casting (not necessary, but recommended)

Various other notes on this build:
You can use Thunderfists, and I did try it out with Legacy ones. It was not nearly as good as Maligaro’s and obviously Acuities are better than all other options.
You can use a Starkonja’s for this build and I did try it out, but I much prefer Alpha Howls increased damage. Starkonja’s gives you much more survivability and HP. I would use Starkonja’s every now and then, maybe on certain fights like Atziri since we know we meet the DPS check as is.

I am leveling Tornado Shot as we speak so that I can find out it's viability relative to SA. I know the damage is insane, but I want to try it out 20/20 v 20/20.

Wow, 4 off colors. 3r 1b is preferable, but congrats! You could go PCOC instead of WED, but you will lose quite a bit of damage if you do not get WED.

You can also use Tornado shot for the build or Pierce/Drillneck if you have one (and get pierce nodes). It is very flexible as the points you need to change are really close.

Can you tell me which gems I need for tornado shot o.O and why do you think Drillneck is better than rare quiver

Drillneck is better than any rare quiver if you are using pierce and the pierce nodes on the tree. The raw damage it adds based on the pierce is what makes it so amazing. It is a modified version of this build. I would likely go with the same setup as SA if I were using Tornado Shot.

Only add pierce to your set up if you have Drillneck and then respec a few nodes into piercing.

What route did you go for Bandit quests?
