Hello, I am running a similar build to yours, and I was wondering if I could get some tips on how to improve/optimize my build.

I am sitting at 7600 ES
My tooltip dps is roughly 6k without charges and 9.7k with charges
Crit chance is around 52% with charges and crit multi is 500%
60/59 block/spell block and 170 mana regen

Thanks!

Hi!

Your tree is similar to Bada_Bing's CI Block build but with more auras. The reason I did not go into the left side of the tree is because I found a way to get block with Rumi's. All I had to do was pick up Alchemist, which was only three nodes. I think Alchemist is essential for CI builds because all our flasks will benefit. +3% more max res from ele flasks, 10/6 more block/spell block from Rumi's, 900 more armor from granites - it's ridiculous. Picking up the crit multi nodes Throatseeker and at Doom Cast makes up for losing out on Arcane Potency. Also allowing me to pick up Heart of Flame fire damage cluster, Sniper, and some mana. This also allowed me to drop Rathpith. Rathpith gives more DPS than the shield I am using, but the crucial element is the mana regen.

I see what you're doing with Tempest Shield - Blind and also see your Arctic Armour is only at Lvl 14. This is because you do not have sufficient mana regen even with the additional aura nodes for Clarity. I am probably sitting at around 130% increased mana regen over your current regen %. This allows me to sustain a Lvl 22 AA, which mitigates almost three times as much fire and physical as a Lvl 14. That allows me to not have to use a Blind or Enfeeble in my setup.

Thanks for the reply,

I have been thinking about picking up a rumi's and dropping some block nodes like you mentioned. Does the regular block bonus from rumi's benefit from rathpith and rainbow strides? I need to find the right balance of block nodes if I make the switch, although, I don't want to drop too many. I like using flasks, but I don't like being dependent on them (it's just a play style preference).

The tempest shield, herald of ice, blind combo is mostly because I had a free slot and blind has no multiplier. While I find it helpful, it is not something I depend on. The lightning damage from tempest shield is actually really good against fast attacking mobs like the voidbearer. They just wreck themselves on it.

I really like the idea of switching to voidbringers (that way I don't lose any ES). The 80% increase mana cost might be too much though. I know it doesn't apply to mana reserved, but do you know if it also applies to the mana degen from AA? If not, I might be able to pull it off if I can get better mana regen.

I also really like the idea of getting the Heart of Flame and Throatseeker keystones, I'm thinking of dropping Deflection and rerouting to Throatseeker once I get a rumi's and then work towards Heart of Flame (should be able to get it by 92). I might also drop Spiritual Guardian, like you mentioned, and use those points to get more mana regen and ES. Dreamer and Foresight looks really nice, but they're kinda far at this point. What would be my best option to boost my mana regen at this point?

I agree on the skelly totem. I hardly use it, but it does come in useful sometimes. I use it as a "shield" on the boss in Colonnade. I place it between me and the boss and the boss pull it to him instead of me. But that's just me being lazy :3

I tried a couple of cwdt setups while leveling up but didn't find them that useful for this character. IC was always less than 1 second when it triggered. cwdt, enduring and molten shell could be good now that I think about it. getting 3 reds on my Rathpith could be a pain though.

I also tried Conc Effect and didn't really like it (just a play style preference I guess). And I need a red slot handy to switch in my 20/20 life leech for elemental reflect maps.

Anyways, thanks again for your insight. I found it really helpful and have a better plan of where to proceed from here.

Yes, it does. You can drop your base block to 45% for the lowest Rumi's roll (30%) and you will hit max block and spell block.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't. I'm pretty sure the only thing that affects the AA mana drain is Inner Force and linked support gems (usually accidentally linked because no support gem supports AA).

Your best bet to get mana regen is to upgrade your gear with better mana regen mods. If this is the only build you want to play for late late endgame then blow all your currency trying to get close to GG gear with really high mana regen 40/45%+. The other option is to get the 10% mana and 20% mana regen nodes at Witch start when you have some points. Really close to get and only two points.

A big reason to use IC on your CwDT setup is to avoid massive physical spike damage. A lot of builds are in danger when charging rhoas/guards, devourers, those arctic frogs hit them. This is partly because they can get temporarily stunned from the high damage and many more hits come in that split second. IC all but negates this danger. But if you're using Chayula then it's not as big of a deal. We have more time to react and can take a couple hits before noping out of danger. IC still helps, but the damage reduction from keeping the endurance charges up, block chance, and a granite flask is enough for our builds.
Hey, great guide. The level 90 and Power Charge links however load broken trees.

Thanks for the heads up. At least the final trees are fixed now.
Hey there! I love this build guide you made here! I have a question though... it is more a problem by the way.. my herald of ice does not shatter monsters on crit strikes :/ What can i do to make it work? I already thanks for the answer forehead :))

Herald of Ice and Thunder cannot proc status ailments. The shatter comes from the cold damage added onto your spell, which gives freeze on crit. You should not be able to see dead mobs' corpses on the ground after they are shattered. If you do see them, you simply did not kill them with a crit or the freeze from a previous crit did not last long enough for your next non-crit cast that killed them.
