The Mathil Tornado/Puncture Spec - Cheap Uber Atziri Viable

Is this gonna be any good with Tornado shot? I understand I'd have to weaponswap for Puncture.

can you post your crit chance, evasion chance and accuracy rating? Curious. Also dps on tornado and puncture would be cool to know.

I've been running precaso's with a little variation on tree and tornado shot instead of split arrow (your's and his are almost identical so it's nice to compare).

couple questions I had one of which translates here. I didn't watch the video but assume you aren't using drillneck by the posted gear.

What do you think about Entropy cluster? That is 45% increased damage over time. For puncture that should act as a multiplier since it is the only factor affecting the damage. The way I understand it puncture's bleed damage is from the damage dealt. So, that damage number over 5 seconds should then get multiplied by the entropy cluster. That sounds massive for 3 points.

One more question would be concerning the gems on puncture. Faster attacks provides a dps increase on toolbar however it technically does not give more damage for a single hit. Right? The puncture skill seems to be one that is used sparingly not rapidly. So, does faster attacks really enhance puncture? I'd think something like Faster Projectiles and if there was a 6link couple it with slower projectiles for increased damage. Your tooltip dps will likely drop but wouldn't the real damage be greater? Especially for uber in which you aren't drilling puncture arrows into her but hitting, kiting, hitting, kiting.

Actually, better than faster/slower projectiles would be quality culling strike. You'll get the same bonus as faster projectiles quality (10% attack speed) but also get increased damage (vs a lesser increased proj damage). The culling part won't apply to the DoT but you still technically have as low as 90% effective hp on enemies if you hit them for the kill.

I still think faster attacks on puncture is very strong, because one of the best benefits of it is how mobile you can be, and faster attacks enhances that further. Without it, for instance, if you were doing the Trio on Atziri, it would be easier to get caught in an attack animation and get rained on by titties from the sky. Entropy is a very competitive option to spend your points on on the trees, but just getting more raw damage is more global (applies to your AoE) and increased the initial hit of puncture, which then increases the bleed more.

PCoC is better imo, and not helping Alira in merciless for the power charge is very questionable and probably wrong

Ele and phys are completely different builds, so I couldn't imagine a puncture weapon swap would work well. On paper though, ele tornado shot looks like it could work well, but phys bow got super buffed in 1.2 by the passives and the 11% raw damage bow buff (which only applies to phys as far as I know)
I no longer have WED in my setup because of several factors. At a certain point crit damage became a better option and is currently a few thousand dps better than WED to use. Crit damage also results in a lower mana cost and increases leech from your phys as opposed to WED.

At that point I only have 1 link left in my 6 link and I can't justify WED because while it's a much larger dps increase than PCoC, it becomes unsustainable on my mana and also increases my chance of dying to ele reflect substantially.

From all I've tried, PCoC seems the most convenient/best option for the 6th link and yea, once you're at a level that you can use it you should go get the power charge from Alira in Merc.

As for Windripper or ele tornado shot, I can't really see it being justifiable. The phys nodes and spec are just too good at the moment to think about an ele version. For me ele builds in the past have been there to replace a phys spec if it just doesn't feel it's performing well enough. This doesn't feel like the case with phys bow specs atm so I'm not too keen on exploring ele options.

For faster attacks in puncture, Precaso pretty much covered it. I explored the other options of increasing damage with slower/faster proj and culling and it just doesn't seem worth the marginal gain they provide to lose 40-50% attack speed. As he said, it keeps you more mobile and also increases the frontloaded dps by a good amount which is nothing to sneeze at because you do spend your time shooting multiple punctures for dps quite often as you can see in the Atziri fight itself.

Hey Math,

In the video, what is the spell that shoots out the red things in a circle? And then in the upper left there is a timer/number that looks like a fist?

Please assist me with this info.

i realized the kill and downward moving bar is probably rampage. But im talking about the things that shoot out from him. Ive used herald of ash. And thats the thing that makes red cirlces around enemies.

Maybe the projectiles that leave his core is a rampage effect?

Quick question- I see LMP, GMP and Split Arrow. I'm not really clear on what to use. If I go for LMP, I take a 30% decrease vs 50% decrease with GMP- which seems better. Not sure about split arrow. I have Death's Harp so have an extra arrow anyways.

But is the goal to get as many arrows out there as possible to use Tornado? So in fact I don't care about the LMP/GMP/SA damage because most of the (not shown) DPS comes from Tornado?

What should I use with this setup?

And kind of more generally, what should I focus on to improve?

I'll try and answer that for you buddy. With tornado shot, GMP is probably best, as you shoot a lot more arrows, but the downside is a higher mana cost. ZiggyD made a good pod about tornado shot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfbSjj7I-ck

With split arrow, you can drop LMP/GMP, as you already fire multiple arrows. Instead you could add in Chain. Overall the damage seems to be about equal (or maybe slightly higher with tornado shot) for AoE. The upside with tornado shot is that it's pretty good against single target too. So overall I would recommend going for Tornado shot + LMP/GMP (depending on what you can sustain).

Hope that helps :)
