Answer 1: It does not benefit you at all during atziri but will still give you the required str/dex

Answer 2: It doesn't even cost close to 1000ex, All you need is:
shavs/Solaris Lorica = 100ex / 25ex
Voll's Devotion = 20-25ex
Mjolner = 40-50ex
Shavs ring = 20-25ex
Acuitys = 130ex

The reason it appears to cost so much is because we are all rich enough to buy headhunters and mirrored helms and +1 to level items etc etc. Truth is you could make this build with 250ex - 300ex

Answer 3: The vertex can be used. Due to it's lower ES and only chaos res, richer people choose to use a different rare helm that will give us much more es and enough res to cap.

As to the Vertex Helm,

that is mine, it had 270% ES and Evasion. Might be noob question but i do not see a rare helmet with anywhere close to 270%ES and you said rare helms have more ES,can you explain this. I might be missing something.
