i thinking about taking the increase duration notes from the tree, with a 20/20 duration gem you get about 2,6 duration with could have strong synergy with gems like:

Vaal Haste + Generosity (15 sec ~ 80 % att and cast speed)
Vaal Grace + Generosity (15 sec ~ 70 % dodge att and spell)
Vaal Summon Skeletons (52 sec Skeletons army)

Vaal Discipline (no delayed 2000 es 8 sec)
lvl 35 Immortal Call + CwDT (6.5 sec with 3 charge 8.5 sec with 4 charge)

also nice for totems, curses and mines/traps etc.

Not really. You can wear only 1 vall skill, because soul charges dont share between vaal skills.
Vaal haste is OFC the main option when linked to generosity, and increased duration.

If you gad points to spend, take this totem node, between the scion and the duellist
Totem life, totem cast speed and cast speed for summoning totem. Worth it.

ofc running with 4+ vaal gems isn't that great, but you still can take 2, it just takes longer to refill. Vaal dis is just kinda an emergency gem, so mostly an another vaal gem could get full souls most times. Anyway 8.5 sec Immortal Call would be great survivability wise.
