what are your thoughts on using chain over pierce? I'm mid 50's using split with pierce and getting the 3 pierce nodes in the tree. I'm hoping to transition into a drillneck later on when i get the currency. what would you say the advantages are of using chain

" The advantages of chain is that you have the potential to do more damage, so let's imagine a situation where you are in a pack of 7 monsters, at a level 17 split arrow i shoot 7 arrows, lets say I hit each and every individual monster one with each arrows they will each bounce twice to another target equating to 21 times hit with 1 arrow x 7 mobs x 3 hits per target so if i crit i would be exponentially increasing my damage where as pierce would slice through it with one big hit and you may run into some trouble with reflect. If you do find a drillneck, I would do a 100% pierce lightning arrow build. And Split Arrow has some blind spots in between its arrows and if the other arrows hit something they won't miss. " awesome thanks for the feedback, maybe ill spec out of the nodes and swap in chain and try it and see which feels better for me personally. i had assumed that the 50% damage penalty put onto chain would make it less effective then pierce. |

Nice build, thanks! Looking for Ranger builds for my buddy who is somewhat new to the game. Going to use this or Lightning Arrow. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to level with a Ranger? Been a while since I've played so I don't know if the old Poison Arrow builds and such still work. Thanks in advance!

I have a somewhat similair build and i'm atm lvl 82 in Rampage. What is your plan to avoid killing yourself vs reflect?
I got 30k frenzy with 8k chain split arrow damage. Max evade + ondars guile, 5k hp and cwdt with immortal call. I die instant if there's a "big" pack if i'm not careful. I can't even use frenzy on rare mobs with reflect, so i've switched to burning arrow for single target. Any pointers? | |
" I usually take it slow when my immortal call pops off, and look for the reflect rare and I just puncture it, wait for it to die, or just move on. Jade flasks are a big help as well, if you hit atleast 50% evasion you should be 100% immune to your reflect. |

" You can just level using Rain of Arrows, Lightning Arrow, I don't really recommend split arrow until you get chain or its a higher level because you only shoot like 3 arrows and its pretty awkward to use without crit as well. |
