A little bit about mechanics of lifesteal and energy shield

Hey guys, I found some guides and info on youtube about lifesteal. The player that created them assumed that lifesteal changes along with max hp amount, so bigger the hp the better lifesteal he gets. If that's true then what will happen if I have a Ghost Reaper passive? It makes my lifesteal recharge my energy shield instead of life. But does it still base on maximum hp or maximum energy shield? I was planing to go Ghost Reaper + Chaos Inoculation so my max hp would be always 1 but I would be immune to chaos damage and my lifesteal would recharge energy shield. I need to know first if it works how I want it to work or not. If not then my build obviously would be useless.

" The key thing to remember here is that the GGG developers are not fall-down-shit-your-pants retarded. Of course, it doesn't work that way. It would be useless if it worked that way. The constraint that your friend on Youtube is probably talking about the fact that life steal is capped so that you can only regain up to 20% of your maximum life per second (unless you have Vaal Pact). Hence, the higher your maximum life, the higher the actual value of the life you can gain per second will be. Dang... That's not what I wanted to hear at all! T_T (lol - was planning to go the same GR/CI route. Seemed like a good match - won't need the life from the life leech anymore, so sure! Why not put it into the ES? Ah well...)
Good info, anyhow, and thanks for posting the question I hadn't thought to ask. ;D Now, back to the happy little skilltree drawing board... I'm actually pretty excited that it's going to require some deeper analysis of what exactly each skill/action is, uses, and requires of the character than I'd previously thought...
