With a hard G like in graphic, which is what the G stands for.

G as in Gordon, not to be confused with Flash Gordon who doesn't have much of anything to do with animated images.

Funny thing is, the inventor of it says its Jif not Gif. So its Gif with a G as in George not with a G as in Gordon.
