the last time i had occasional black screens (with sound playing still in the background) my gpu slowly died. other games than poe would play fine for first, then the pc wouldn't boot on the first try. temperatures were all fine despite the system being under full load.

had to replace the graphics card, no problems since. this was on a nvidia gpu though, maybe there is hope for you ;)
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
A black screen is not a BSOD, a black screen usually means the monitor lost signal. This can happen with a defective GPU but also when your GPU driver crashes. Usually the driver should reset itself but maybe it's causing your computer to completely freeze or something.

Can you clarify what "Black screen" means in your situation?
Is the machine stil powered on and running or is it compeletely turned off?

You said that you're on a notebook which freezes before that "Black screen" occurs.
How long does it freeze? How long does the black screen appear?

First of all: When this only happens when you're playing PoE and not with several other games I would personally assume that it's an issue with the GPU driver and remove your driver using Driver Sweeper in Safe mode to install the latest driver version

Troubleshooting
Check for errors:

1: Assuming you need to reboot your notebook after the black screen occured, is there any error in your Event viewer, for example traces of your GPU driver crashing and resetting?

2: Was a dump file created in case a BSOD did occur but did not appear?

Exclude hardware issues:

1: What do you see when you attach an external monitor to the notebook?

2: Can you try removing your notebooks battery and use only the power cord and the other way around?

3: Can you use the build in hardware diagnostic tool of your laptop?

first of all i get BS, NB is still running and then i can do nothing -> only hard reset (freeze situation)

I reinstaled my drivers, downloaded latest.....etc.

Check for errors:

1. no event, clean start without backup

2. no BSOD/dont know

Exclude hardware issues:

1. same as main monitor (BS)

2. tried, no change

3. in bios? never tried
A black screen suddenly appearing and nothing that you can do except hard resetting the notebook is kind of odd when this happens only with PoE.
Actually its kind of contradictory as the freezing computer with a black screen sounds like a hardware issue but an issue only happening while playing GPU would indicate an issue with the game or drivers to me.

I still think the crashing GPU driver scenario makes most sense so although you said you did reinstall the driver so:

Just to be sure can you:
-remove the GPU driver with Driver Sweeper in Safe mode and reinstall?
-Run the PoE pack checker?
-Check the PoE logs
-Check if a minidump was created http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/204214-dump-file-change-default-location.html

What kind of notebook do you have? You can just use Google to find out if it has a hardware diagnostic tool.

removed by sweeper/patch checker/poe checked/minidump set/

my latest drive has date 10/15/2013.

NB is MSI GX 623x, what should i look for with diagnostic tool? im not IT type:)
i can feel now heat from GPU. Before temperature was OK. Now i cant even touch it!
i tried texture_quality=3,4,5 no diference. Fun (cooler)has same speed/sound
It can be that the cooling fans are not working properly or maybe the notebook doesnt cant get enough air intake because its not on a flat surface...

Is the warranty still valid so you can send the laptop back for a diagnose?

I don't know if your notebook has a build in hardware diagnostic tool on the mainboard.

Can you monitor the temperature of your GPU while playing PoE?

Use something ike HWMonitor that can list the CPU, GPU, and Case temps for monitoring. That will likely give you the best results and diagnostics.
i have this http://www.alza.cz/zalman-zm-nc3000u-black-notebook-cooler-d177631.htm?kampan=adw1_notebooky_dsa-produkty&gclid=CjwKEAjwre6dBRC94d-Gma7g3wcSJACNatZe-28sB57hy6tjA5vIYPgZT72n3vyUfrYR9NxJ8eT_GxoCUoLw_wcB and im using this cooler from the begining. Temp is about 70-85 celsius degrees while im playing poe. And warranty is out 2years ago.
