how to improve my load times?
i don't midn the "grinding my gears" when i launch the game but when i'm loading between zones it takes so long that i end up dying when i'm physically in.
i've loved hardcore since diablo days and i can't play it because of this. what can i do to improve my load time between maps? i'm very aware of my awful hard drive and i know this is the primary issue but if there's anything i can do internally to make it even a little faster lmk. i already defragged it and i haven't actually checked if it did anything but i'd like to know what you people know. thanks for the read |

SSD.
I know you said internally but really there isn't much. Maybe if you have a lot of memory you can make a ramdisk for the game. Last edited by Rheikon#4615 on Feb 2, 2013, 5:42:53 PM

1. Get a better processor (i5 or i7)
2. Overclock said processor 3. Get a SSD 4. Make sure you're on 64 bit os and have 8 gb ram 5. 'Ramdisk' if you can 6. If you're a laptop, make sure you're always plugged in and power settings are on high 7. Cntrl+alt+delete and kill any unnecessary processes 8. lower texture settings (this should require you to load smaller-sized textures so it should load faster) 9. Run the .ggpk defragger someone made (I think this should speed up load times, since the disk will find assets it wants faster) My Keystone Ideas: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/744282 Last edited by anubite#0701 on Feb 2, 2013, 5:56:00 PM

" Definitely the best investment I've ever made towards this game. Can't beat 1-2 second load times. |

" i was fighting cruel piety yesterday and i my load was like 30 seconds + going to camp and into her dungeoun and it was REALLY frustrating me. problem is i can't really afford a new hard drive they're too expensive atm |

RAM disk = load game every time COMPLETLY into the RAM.
Without a SSD, that takes ages ..... and with SSD, you should have enough load speed. And overclocking an i3/i5? Troll? PoE doesn't even use 50% of my X4 945 on maximum details, gpu limits the sky boy. Make

could maybe try a fast usb drive, I know this has worked for some others on other games.. but ya
SSD, there is cheap ones - you only need like a 16-64gb one... |

" Uuugh .... technically flawed, wouldn't use one if I get it gifted ..... sure, still faster than a HDD and much more IOPs, but with SLC-cells insteand of MLC and old controller with outdated wear-leveling algos = herp derp. If you buy cheap, you buy shit - that's the rule for SSDs. And without knowing the hardware facts, don't buy anything (rule applies for everything, but especially for IT-stuff, so much crap out there for uninformed customers).
