Are self summoning zombies possible?
First of all, I know that even if this is possible, it's not particularly optimal, so there's really no need to point this out.
Anyway, minions can be supported with attack supports (multistrike, faster attacks, etc.) as well as with spell supports (faster casting for raging spirits is the only one that comes to mind right now but bear with me). That being said, I'm wondering if you could support zombies with CoC and make them spawn more zombies when they crit. I know that you can't cast them directly if they are supported by CoC, BUT you could in theory run them off of another trigger (so, zombies, CoC, cast when stunned) or start off by going to A1 and murdering things until you crit a few times (though the first is probably the better solution. If your zombies die in a real fight, you'd be able to start summoning again with the CWDT/CWS). I don't really have the stuff to test it myself so I'm wondering if someone else has. With crit weakness as a main curse, and a three+ curse build, it might be doable? Something that came to me as I was writing this -- zombies casting OTHER spells on crit. Minions can't trigger any of the trigger gems (CwDT,CoC,CwS,etc) as far as I know. I may be wrong. I've never ever played a real summoner.
With a Zombie + CoC + CwS/CwDT setup you'll summon a zombie when you get stunned/damaged but you'd need to link an attack there for CoC to work too. Do you want this for a pure minion build? In that case this isn't a great solution for automatic summons (as you pointed it out). BUT I used to run a Skeletons + CwDT + Frost Wall (I forgot the other links - Chance to Ignite probably) in a 4L Cloak of Defiance on my DD Templar with Minion Instabilty. It's a great defensive/offensive trigger, the meat shield and the frost walls are great to mitigate some damage and the exploding skellies did quite some damage with all the extra fire damage of a DD build. Wouldn't it be more straightforward to link Summon Zombie to Spell Totem? As long as there are bodies, you get fresh zombies. Works fine with skeletons.

Basically it was just for the novelty of an infinite supply of zombies without any interaction on my own part.
I figured since attack supports work with zombies, their melee attacks count as actual attacks. I may have to test it myself at some point but I don't do crit builds so I don't have a leveled crit weakness gem. Aura Reservation Calculator: https://poe.mikelat.com/

If you are melee then cast on melee kill supporting summon zombies will give you a constant supply of zombies with no work on your part, so long as you are not using infernal blow.

I can't recall... but should be 'yes'. I tried with skeletons though, not zombies. Since the latter requires bodies on the ground to raise them... and most mobs are already shattered by my ice spears.

You can probably link Desecrate to Spell Totem and get infinite repeating zombies. Anything else linked to the combo will enhance the zombies (minion life, added fire damage, etc.)

" It wont work as you want it to. You can proc spells with the different proc supports. Those spells can create minions, but minions can't have the effect of the proc supports. For example imagine a link like this: Double Strike - Multistrike - Power Charge on Crit - Cast on Crit - Zombies Your double strike will repeat 3 times and when it crits it will have a chance to generate a power charge and a chance to cast raise zombbie. These zombies will repeat their auto-attacks 3 times and when they crit they will have a change to generate a power charge. They wont be able to cast raise zombie though. It's the same for cast when stunned: Cast when stunned - raise zombie When you get stunned you have a chance to cast raise zombie but when zombies created from this skill are stunned they wont have a chance to cast raize zombie. And also the same for cast when damage taken and cast on death. If this was possible though, it would be quite overpowered. Minions mostly have to same basic caps as players, 75% max elemental and chaos resistance, max of 3 of each charge, max of 3 zombies, max of 50 raging spirits and so on. And if you could get a zombie to cast raise zombie the second zombie would be your zombies minion, not yours. So while the second zombie wouldn't have your minion passives each zombie you had could summon 3 zombies of their own and each of your raging spirits could in theory summon 50 raging spirits.
