Want to learn more about PvP, how to get started for a noob?

Don't really know the correct forum to post this in. But I'd like to learn more about PVP and how to PVP in POE or make a PVP build. I know there is LLD and HLD but POE is the only aRPG I've played so I don't know much about PVP tactics and strategy or builds in general. I'm just looking for some basics and general info.

I've only played PvE so far and I really enjoy that, but it would be cool to learn about PVP too, even though I've read PVP isn't a very large community in POE.

I would suggest you try LLD instead of HLD. HLD requires a lot of currency to compete. LLD gear wont cost as much as HLD. There is a very cool and friendly LLD guild called PVP28 made by a couple of friends I know. They probably have the top LLDers on softcore. You could ask them for more info and have some friendly matches. Also check out POEARENA.com

what oats says isnt wrong, cause you will need lot of currencies to do high lvl pvp.
you can try lld just to see if you really like pvp, but high lvl pvp is another thing imo.
even if the game is still not fully balanced and there is very low population team vs team with my guild are extremely funny for me (i dont like lvl 28 pvp tho), and until 2 days ago i was playing with a 5L, so there are some builds that works even with low currencies. you just need some experience to do it by yourself.
i suggest you to try a first approach to the pvp with a char that you already have, so you can see other builds and start taking confidence on how they work. then you can think to make the one you like more.
meanwhile try to save more currencies that you can.

You should give LLD another try. Its a lot of fun. I used to HLD with your guild ICU a couple of months back when everyone was into HLD. When the HLD scene started to die down your guild mate Firebrand introduced me to the world of LLD. Ive been hooked onto LLD ever since.

I agree tempallo. If u decide to try HC LLD there would be a welcome spot for u, or we would definitely give u advice, and sparr with you!

well since u are demostrating me all this love i might give it a try, there are very low hld pvpers now so could be a new goal to keep playing.
