Low life and CoE are fine-Snapshoting and Attack Ranged aspect should be adressed
After a ton of threads regarding balancing issues towards nerfing Corwn of Eyes and low life,i wanna just share my opinion on the matter.
The most severe issue,that melee weapons can scale their damage pretty high,which is completely FINE,because you are supposed to getting hit while you are using them.There is a problem when this can go ranged.Right now i am talking about spectral throw obviously,but let's see in examples. Here are 2 ranged builds,both with BiS items in every spot,made by the same person. 1)Fyndel's low life spectral throw character: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/846000 2)Fyndel's split arrow character: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/782963 As you can see,both builds are by Fyndel(whom i consider one of the best standard players BTW),and have BiS items on every spot,and min-maxed to the roof.Let's take a look at their stats: Low life spectral throw:His regular self buffed AoE DPS(no RF or atziri flask),with not even faster attacks(faster projectiles+GMP)= 154K DPS,his Single target can scale up to 765K DPS,again Self buffed. Split Arrow:Self buffed AoE DPS=28K DPS,his single target:164K DPS As you can see,with the spectral throw character,he gets almost as much DPS(and higher if he wants to),with his AoE attack,as the Bow character on his single target.From a defense point of view,the bow character has something like 800 more ES,but generally he is still in a worse position due to being able to have +max resists through 7auras,and of course loses the mobility superiority that whirling blades provides. Now as i did this comparison i will move on to comparing similar 2 MELEE builds,with similar gear pretty much,mine and LoPan's flicker character.I am CI,while LoPan is low life,who casts auras LEGITELY,using prism guardian ,instead of snapshoting. Mine(CI): https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/417287 Lopan's(lowlife): https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/832799 LoPan does not have analytical DPS stats posted on the first page,but if you searched abit for them through the pages,you will see that his regular AoE flicker has about 50% more DPS than mine(possibly who have more if he replaced critical strikes gem with added fire or something),and he can effectively stack alot of MF,while he has half my ES. So for MELEE,without SNAPSHOTING,and similar gear,it is clear that low life and CI are BALANCED.BOth have their advantages and disdavantages.The real issues that needs to be adressed are the benefits of ATTACK RANGED with crown of eyes and snpahoting,rather than low life in general or the item itself!Dagger spectral throw is the king,but wanders also put bow users with similar gear to SHAME,and that's IMO unacceptable. Also it is the issue of daggers+ranged.Daggers are perfectly balanced vs -say- Claws(the other top crit melee weapon) for MELEE PLAY.Hell claws are even INFINITELY superior to daggers if you do not have atziri's auity.But letting dagger insane crit ranged is a problem as well. Propositions:Well i was mainly here to adress the problem,and i did.I cannot speak about wander's etc,but IMO(and this is just my opinion),the since melee weapon nods are by nature really fucking strong(for good reasons),the only way to balance spectral throw,without screwing every non crit user(especially low life,but CI crit daggers can scale spectral throw damage pretty highly as well),is to buff the base damage of the skill abit,and make it UNABLE to crit. Feeling sorry for you, you obviously took some time and made some thoughts..
Your points are right, scaling on especially bows is horrible and the true problems are the auras and snapshotting, not coe and low-life (its just my opinion, ok?) But they wont fix snapshotting like most ppl expect. Why you ask? Because it would make Shavronnes useless and i dont expect them to dumb their own uniques. So dont expect too much from the "snapshotting fix". Also, you addressing problems on 2 very different skills: SA and ST. ST skill has ~90°+pierce arc while Split arrow has nearly a 180°+chain. These skills are very different. You cannot look simply on the dps :) Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

Astarte-You are right and i agree.You definetely cannot compare pierce with chain,but i do beleive you have seen both builds in action :D.Not to mention the single target aspect.
