[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!

Thanks for the great info!

So yeah... this thing is basically an 8.4 second invincibility potion.

it's going to take some testing, but initial impressions suggest that this flask *might* make it possible to straight up facetank that last 1% of bosses/scenarios that the build could not before... it's basically an invincibility flask

-edit- figured i'd give uber a try with this flask; uber trio is actually fairly easy if you use this flask and a pair of staunching flasks (finished them deathless)... but died to uber herself. Unsure if that's due to the build just being weak against Uber or (more likely, I suspect) just because I am an Atziri noob and suck at the fight since I've only ever done it like 8 times.

Did a handful of 78-81 maps. Pretty sure that the Vinktar flask means you can use concentrated effect in Mjolner for everything but curse immune maps. The damage on this build is so insane that I was able to kill the level 81 Courtyard trio in a -max +life +80% lightning resist map before the effect of the vinktar flask wore off... absolutely insane...

I am literally 1-shotting white enemies in 78 and 79 maps just by leap slamming into a pack once and boom they all instantly die...

Yeah, gonna have to nab a flask or two when I can and get some testing in on my builds to see how it handles. I have no doubt this thing is gonna be BiS for our flask setups and will definitely allow for gems to be switched around and used more freely and freeing us from the need for Life Leech all the time.
To put in perspective how ridiculous the DPS has become on this build in 2.1, here's twinned 82 Abyss Kaom dying in about 9 seconds:

I didn't even do this on my pimped out level 100 scion... this was just my level 90 templar

Since we are using RT, and now that Iron Will comes with the gloves, is there a reason why Lighning Pen is being used over Controlled Destruction? Sorry if it was already mentioned, but I missed it :). Regards.

Good question. I'm not the biggest math guy around here when it comes to figuring out damage, but I think it's going to come down to a few things:

1. Will the more multiplier from Controlled Destruction be enough to outweigh the damage done by Lightning Penetration?

2. To build on number 1 above...specifically, against mobs that have such highly capped lightning resist that even with Elemental Weakness running, will the damage be more when checked against 75% LR? Lightning Penetration doesn't care about how high the resist is capped as it checks against 75% LR and then subtracts from there.

3. So, let's see...it will come down to:

>> Controlled Destruction at 20/20 = 44% More Spell Damage + 10% Increased Spell Damage
>> Lightning Penetration at 20/20 = 37% Lightning Penetration + 10% Increased Lightning Damage

Controlled Destruction might win out in some cases, but I think just based on an initial hunch that Lightning Penetration will likely be the better choice given its consistency. HOWEVER, that said, CD will also affect the spell damage your Endurance Charges do (as they are fire) so there is that to consider as well. Hmmmm...yeah...gonna need a better math guru than me to try this one out. :p
On average Controlled Destruction is probably a bit better than Lightning Pen since most of the time you're not fighting high resist mobs. However, the difference is small, and I don't already have a 20/20 controlled destruction but do have a 21/20 lightning pen so I'm just sticking with that.

I doubt you'd notice the difference between the two except that in a T12+ map with +80% lightning resist mobs, Lightning Pen might feel a bit stronger than controlled destruction.

Ok, nabbed flask and gloves and am impressed. I think Uber could be in my future.
