Off Hand Culling Strike

Would the Culling Strike on a weapon in your off hand still work?

I plan to use it with the Elemental Hit Gem.

I think it is a global mod, but Im not 100% sure on this one

It should be easy to test it (with double strike or ground slam), I would not rely on opinions of random forum people when an easy test is possible :)

Quote from wiki An Implicit modifier is a modifier that a particular base item naturally has, before any affix adds additional modifiers. These are listed separately from affix-granted modifiers in their own section in the item tooltip. Not all items have implicit modifiers.

So ask your self this,if you have a claw equipped in one hand, and a sword in another, does the implicit claw hp steal mod apply to everything across the board,or just the claw it self?

The claw leech doesn't apply to the sword because it's local (only applies to the weapon it's on), not because it's implicit (from the base type of an item rather than from a mod). Explicit mods can be local as well (the Tyranical roll on one weapon doesn't affect the other, despite not being implicit, because it is local). Implicit mods can be global (the crit chance on daggers).

Culling Strike is a global property, and will affect all hits from any weapon or spell you use, regardless of it's source.

I remember always using claw in off-hand to get free life gain on hit with double strike with the main hand. So does life on hit work and leech doesn't, Mark?

And I'm sure the leech that is not implicit on a claw (rolled as a random mod) DOES apply to the main hand attacks.

Sorry for necroing the thread but it is short and has some excellent info by Mark.

I'd like to add to the original question. Now we know Culling Strike is global, what about some other stats? I know that "Gain Unholy Might on Crit Strike" on Death's Hand is global, is that true for all "on Crit Strike" mods?

Accuracy? It seems to be global, there is Accuracy on rings.
What about mana/life leech?
And mana life on hit/kill mods?
