Healer/Support type
It would be nice to have Healer type or support type gems, or a character that is in the passive tree that can actually be speced as a support type. When you hear the name "Templar" you think of a healer, however, are they are, are a male form of a witch with added strength.

Templar can use The Rejuvenation-Totem.
As you can see it requires quite alot of Strength at lvl 15+ (Much more Strength than you see the regular Witch have, 100+) http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Rejuvenation_Totem Then you put the Increased Area of Effect-gem on it to increase the Radius. --- For even more support, use Vitality (Health Regen-Aura, regenerates health to your Party), Discipline-Aura on your Templar (increases everyones Energy Shield), and use Purity-Aura (increases Resistances) Oh, and also the Aura Determination, which increases the Party's Armor! Damage-Prevention is also support and indirect healing. Need even more Support? Use Enduring Cry to taunt enemies off your team-mates. Controlling the Battle-Field, preventing the enemies to hit your team-mates is also support. With Ground Slam, you can Stun enemies, preventing them from reaching your more delicate party-members. With Heavy Strike and Shield Charge, you can Knockback and Stun Enemies, dictating the position of enemies. With Leap Slam, you can also Knockback groups of enemies that have ventured too close to the most fragile team-mates. I don't know about you but I think of knights in armor killing people who refuse to worship the same god as they do. You might want to google "templar", because "healer" is quite far from it.
Also there are already auras in the game and totems that help quite a bit (rejuvenation totem for instance). @Aelloon

I'd like to see targetable healing skills, so you got my vote.

Target able healing spells would be kind of pointless IMO, we already have plenty of options to heal up as well as the pace of the game doesn't really allow for it IMO.

Targettable Healing isn't needed with lvl 20 Vitality-Aura together with lvl 20 Rejuvenation-Totem.
AoE healing is where it's at, having targetable healing would be very cumbersome in this hectic fast-paced game. Alexis *smiles* =@[.]@= boggled =~[.]^= naughty wink Last edited by Kwonryu#3444 on Jan 30, 2013, 6:01:43 PM

" What about an AoE targetable spell, similar to the AoE targetable damage spells. | |
A Heal that emanates from the caster (healing everyone around the caster) would be much better and practical in this fast-paced game than a Targetable Heal. :)
But, they have a similar effect already, a lvl 20 Vitality heals everyone inside aura-range of the caster. Alexis

" Yes, especially for healing minions. Rejuvenation totems and so on are just easy cheese, but if you actually had to pay attention to which minion was taking the most damage, there's more player skill involved. |

I think the problem is not the lack of support, but the lack of active support.
Sure, I could be a templar with 4 auras and 2 totems, that works wonders, but that is too boring. Support play should be (and is on WoW, LoL and others) an active and fun type of gameplay, which can be achieved with spells that heal or shield the allies, spells with control components only and things like. Off course, I know it's not common on ARPGs, but it could be a nice adition. |
