how do i whisper to account name of someone?

hi i want to whisper someone to who i only know the account name and a character he has but wich is not online, how i whisper to him without knowing wich character he is using?
(probably theres someway to whisper by just knowing the account name, someone told me its ctrl+F4 but it doesnt work, maybe he wanted to say alt+F4 instead -.-)

Don't think you can whisper to an account directly (chat system could use some upgrades). What you can try is add them to your friendlist so you can see what character they are on, and whisper them on that character.

I believe if you whisper any character on an account, and that account is online regardless of which character, they will receive the whisper on the character they are on. Otherwise, people who are selling stuff and its listed on poe.xyz would have a huge list of characters you would have to ping just to see which one is online.

Friend the one name you know then after that in your friend list it will show any character that is online in the same league.
