Vaal Quest problem

So I made a group for this , got killed used port back in room after group killed him, now i cant get to sarn says i need the Apex or have it placed...???

same problem in addition to post above: Current quest: Shadow of The Vaal Quest goal: Talk to Eramir about the Dark Altar atop the Ancient Pyramid Quest tracker: Forest Encampment Quest NPC doesn't have "!" above his had. I tryed to enter new dungeon (ctrl+click) of ANcient Pyramid and even Waterfall Cave The result is always same: Vaal's dead body on the ground I guess that's why we cant complete this quest Last edited by DDarkAngel#0429 on Jan 27, 2013, 1:01:01 AM

I am having the exact same issue. I am attaching a screenshot that shows the quest in the state where it says to "Kill the Vaal Oversoul atop the Ancient Pyramid." with his corpse right next to me.
Additionally, the quest item used to open the summon area for the boss (I unfortunately forgot the name) was consumed and no longer in my inventory, so I can't redo it. The bug breaks the game so that it is no longer possible for me to progress at all essentially. As the others said, I was in the town as my party killed him (all were on the same stage of the quest. You guys will need to use ctrl-click to create a new instance and kill the Vaal Oversoul again.

On my own, I was unable to complete it. However, I was able to find a pug group on the board who had already started it and joined them to complete it.

The way I solved this is the following:
It seems the Ancient Temple is on an instance. Which having the quest at the end or top of the temple. Once you start it solo, then create a group they all become part of that instance. until it reset's itself after a set time period. As mentioned you have to go to the very first Ancient Temple stairway and hold down control and left click the stairs. this will give you the option to enter the existing one ( one you and the group were in ) or start a new one. This way you can restart that particular area new. Then all I did was solo Vaal until completion. and moved on to next area. Hope this helps :D |

Omg this was so fucking helpful. I was stuck there, didn't know what to do.. no matter how many times I grouped with others that god damn door just wouldn't open. Finally I could slay that beast on my own. And it worked. thx :)
