Descent Champions: Skipping Hatestorm!?!

I have been participating descent champions race many times in the past. But for the first time ever, I managed to skip the Hatestorm boss (the fire golem) without knowing. I realized that later when I encountered Avatar of Tempest. I was shocked because I thought all bosses in that race was mandatory. And I thought the only way to fight Avatar was to get past Hatestorm. Did that ever happen to anyone else? Or is it just me?

You battle hatestorm or avatar of the tempest, not both.

Descent Champions split into 2 paths and merge again 2 times.

There is an easy path and a hard path.

I name it hard path because it offers crappy chests and nothing which helps you in inner halls level 2 and 3.


After the Brute you enter a Zombie Zone.

Then you have the options to go into the Diabolic Crypt or Misty Cave.

The misty cave is the easier zone but iffers you a bad chest and only the Stormy Ledge as better path.

The Diabolic Crypt opens a path to Ember Crypt and Stormy Ledge.

The ember crypt is the better choice if you get problems at Gravicius and inner halls level 2.
Else you got to the stormy ledge which is the better choice for inner halls level 3.

You can also take the Stormy ledge from misty cave and the second option is the frozen cave, which is again an easier area with no benefits later.

Only the stormy ledge offers you both bosses as option. The other always have the same boss

In Short:

Zombie zone->Misty Cave or Diabolic Crypt.

Misty Cave->Frozen Cave or Stormy Ledge

Diabolic Crypz->Stormy Ledge or Ember Crypt


Frozen Cave->Glittering Cave = Avatar of Tempest -->Inner Halls 1

Ember Crypt->Glittering Crypt = Hatestorm --->Inner Halls 1

Stormy Ledge->Glittering Cave or Crypt --->Inner Halls 1

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, I can't go to Stormy Ledge because my computer can't handle that map. I stopped going there for awhile now.

stop being hater and just kill hatestorm

and killing hatestorm is like killing lvl one zombie
and tempest is gmp piety with -max and vuln

You can also do the ember crypt to fght Hatestorm.

Nah it's more like a gearcheck if you took a life node or not.
Or do you use an SSD? Because if not I gonna butcher when you lag.

I am pretty sure without the lifenodes I would be dead every single time when I fought him instead of 9-30 HP close calls.
