Alternatives To POE

I found a DIABLO style game by a GOOD indy dev BIGPOINT

Everyone check out Drakensang at http://us.bigpoint.com/games/drakensang-online/

These Guys also made a really sick Spaceship RPG based called Battlestar Gallactica Online. Check it out too for sure it's really fun flying around and blasting noobs in space.

BGO is awesome I've played it a ton. And I'm looking forward to getting home from work tonight to try Drakensang. Trust me when I tell you BIGPOINT is a solid company and definetly worth checking out.

And yes I am pissed about your beta invite system GGG. But that's okay. At this point... I've already decided Diablo 3. I just wanted to get in try your beta give me something to do until then. But it doesn't even matter because I will find other diablo Style games to Play. Like Diablo 2! I started playing that again on saturday so good luck following in there footsteps but I'm telling you guys you are making a lot of bad decisions and just following in blizzards footsteps is about as cheesy as your difficulty naming. By the way when are you gonna post that poll chris? never?

forget I asked... i dont care what you say chris.. id honestly rather hear from a forum moderator..

I tried that some time ago and it is a poor substitute for Path of Exile.
By the way diablo 3 is the best alternative because in D3 everyone gets their own loot and that is important in a team game these days with all the degenerate people. So you did a bad job predicting gameplay in theat part. Also RMAH is inevitable, if it is not hosted by GGG for POE it WILL happen in outside sources. There are more reasons I will post later and More alternative games I will post when I get home tonight. :P
As mentioned in the other thread about this game, it is extremely expensive:

"
Drakensang is decent...until u realise u can't really enjoy the game if you don't pay real cash lol

"
So I just tried Drakensang, interesting game. But the cash shop is rediculous. Not only do they sell power, but for buffs, it's a dollar a minute per buff. To double the inventory(which is super tiny to start off) is $150 dollar. That's right, one hundred and fifty dollars...... To open the chests you find in missions to get decent gear, costs a ton. The whole thing is built for people with thousands of dollars in disposable income.

That said, if you want to play that game, go play it.... but don't troll in here about it.

Honestly though, what's your beef with PoE? Is it just that you didn't get a beta key? Because I've got "news" for you: Diablo 3 has a closed beta.... tons of games have a closed beta. The only difference is that GGG announces closed beta winners every X minutes instead of just sending out all the keys at once.
Shared loot is not a downside for everyone. For example one of my favorite parts of Diablo 1&2 was competing with my friends for drops. I feel this adds a whole new element of excitement to the game. As far as random people taking totally unneeded items, the solution is simple. Once they prove themselves unworthy simply leave the group and disassociate with them.

The RMAH is despicable. I hold this opinion because while it is true that cheaters will always find a way to cheat, that does not mean officially condoning it is the correct choice. The real slap in the face is that Blizzard claims that it is doing so for any noble reasons. They claim that it will protect people from scammers, this is not a desirable thing. If you are going to be a cheater you deserve to be cheated. The fact of the matter is that Diablo 3's design decisions all point to a company much changed from the one that I and many others came to respect. Now they have catered to the lazy, the ineffectual, and most disgustingly absolute avarice. They seek to claim a cup that overflows far more than they could ever hope to consume.
I tried Drakensang and quit pretty much on the same day, most ridiculous aspects of the game that upset me the most were that you gotta buy keys to open special locked chests that contain rarer than normal gear. It's not a big problem until you find out that you can only purchase it with andermant, the cash-to-virtual currency. To make things even worse, the identify scroll equivalent -- the crystal of truth is also purchased with andermant, and doesn't only take one but for instance for a blue-named enchanted item can take over 20 crystals of truths. Finally to upgrade items you also need andermant. Almost everything revolves around andermant, which you receive around 650 when you start the game and quickly becomes diminished. Andermant is rewarded in a minuscule amount for completing quests and sometimes may be dropped by mobs, although the amount you receive nowhere satisfies the upkeep of andermant you are going to need to just identify items and soon you will realize you are running low on andermant. The drop rate of loot itself in this game is petty, more often than not you're going to be picking over-time healing potions and essences that are ingredients for casting your spells. All-in-all I rather stare at the beta key timer than play such a money-hungry game!
Keys!? They're non-existent! Go do something worthwhile!

"Look at it this way: The longer it takes before you get your key or the game goes to open beta, the better the game will be when you finally get to play!"

quote from Garr0t

Eventually this guy will hold to his word and leave.
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
