Questions about affixes, suffixes, and implicit mods
I've been playing this game for a while and I see some videos where the experienced players are carefully crafting items and looking up implicit mods, affixes, and suffixes, and they roll the exact stats they want.
I have no idea what implicit mods are and what exactly are affixes and suffixes. Could anyone help me on pointing what is what and explaining it to me? Thanks! Listed an item for example! Last edited by MrRockk#7641 on Jan 13, 2014, 6:39:09 PM Last bumped on Jun 19, 2017, 5:46:40 AM

Many lewt.
Much desync. Such rewarding. Wow. According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew? |

I believe the implicit property is above the line -- teh 20% whatever, which is rerolled with blesseds.
if you look up there ^^ you will see 'GAME' --- select 'ITEMS' from the dropdown menu and you can see a list of affixes and suffixes. |

Implicit mods are mods that equipment has even if it's just a plain non-magic/rare/unique item. In the case of that weapon, it would be the stun duration bonus. Not all equipment has an implicit mod, for example axes don't (but instead tend to have higher dps than other weapon types).
All the other mods that a piece of equipment has are either suffixes or prefixes. Magic items can have 1 of each and rare items can have 3 of each. Unfortunately, the only way to know which is which is to look them up in a mod table. The main point in knowing suffixes & prefixes is when using Exalted Orbs. If for example, you want a specific suffix, you should make sure that the item doesn't already have 3 suffixes before using an orb on it. |

If you pick up a white item, and it has some stats on it, besides armor/ev/ES, that is the implicit mod. Such as lightning resist on a lightning ring.
Prefixes and suffixes do not show on rare items, but they do on magic items. The mechanics still work the same though. Magic items can have up to 1 prefix and 1 suffix, each. Rare items can have up to 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes, each. To figure out which you have, use either memory, or the links the other guy posted already. Compare to your stats. (NOTE: Some stats pre/suffixes roll multiple stats. A Prime example being the accuracy/phys damage mod.) |

Every rare item can have UP TO:
1 - implicit (this roll is above the bar and will be on the white item as well before it is made magic/rare. It is basically non relevant when crafting and can be changed by using blessed orbs once you have an item you actually want to equip. TLDR - ignore and save for last 3 - Prefixes View the prefix data linked above. You must verify the itemlevel has at least the level required to have a chance of getting that stat tier. 3 - suffixes View the suffix data linked above. You must verify the itemlevel has at least the level required to have a chance of getting that stat tier. Each time you move up a tier and introduce new tiers to your possible prefix/affixes, the odds of getting the ones you want may increase/decrease depending on what other prefixes/suffixes you have. Ideally you want 3 top prefixes, 3 top suffixes, and the top implicit. This happens so rarely that it might even become "mirror worthy" depending on the item. Also the entire point of crafting is to synergize prefixes and suffixes - for example: %Phys damage is a prefix. So is %phys damage hybrid (with acc). And Flat Phys dmg (x-X) is also a prefix. That's all 3 prefixes. So in order to have the highest possible phys DPS weapon, you need 3 top tier prefixes. The problem is, when you craft, if you start from scratch with a blue item it must have 1 prefix and 1 suffix. As you add orbs, the prefixes and suffixes are added randomly. This is what makes proper crafting extremely expensive and time consuming. And rewarding. IGN: VistaChris Last edited by VistaChris#6285 on Jan 13, 2014, 7:50:52 PM

How do you get Intelligence on a Crystal Belt.
Its not listed in the affixes page : http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/List_of_belt_modifiers And is my belt worth Exalting? I already spent 2 Exalts on my armor and got 2 useless mods : Life Regen and Fire Res. Or should I try my boots instead? I am on SSF so no trade possible. Nothing worth crafting on that belt apart from movement speed. Or should I try my luck farming another crystal belt. It took close to 20-25 shipping Yard/High Gardens maps to finally find one belt. |

" according to poeaffix.net the only way to get int on a belt is to use essence. you cant craft or reroll it otherwise Also, according to poe.affix you have 1/286 chance to get 3 resists (without chaos one) on such belt, and this chance may be less if you also include possibility of only 2 suffixes (but then you can craft). So for just 2 resists you'd need 26 to 52 chaos orbs, with third resist craftable from tora Why bother finding a Mirror of Kalandra if it can be [Removed by Support] Killing the Elder or Shaper while following someone's build is like finding a street using google maps - such an achievement! One thing you have to understand is that there's a difference between the mod you see and the affix which created it.
Your maul has a hybrid affix that causes it to show two different mods. The accuracy and the physical are likely grouped together in a single prefix "Reavers". Last edited by Shagsbeard#3964 on Jun 18, 2017, 9:00:33 AM
