Cannot Kill General Gravicious in ACT 3

Level 35 templar
850 life
220 mana
100 energy shield
400 armor
main attack: lightning strike 320 dps
secondary attack: heavy strike 220 dps

he basically 2-3 shots me. i tried kitting, hit and run, melee him. nothing works because he basically kills me instantly and I cannot even put a scratch on his energy shield.

how does anyone kill this guy?

it's also worth mentioning that the loot is pathetic. at level 35 after so many hours of play I only found like 3 support gems. really?!

whats your level of fire resist?

some are lucky some are not

As said, try raising up your fire resist, that is where most of his damage is coming from. As for damaging him, try throwing up a curse, conductivity possibly to lower his lightning resist.

No its not.

Max your Fire res - its a fire based boss and dont hit him with attacks that he is resistant for (if he is resistant to lightning LS is bad idea - it will take long time to kill him).
Also he have very nasty Molten Shidl - meele is also not preferred here.

Also.. he is a BOSS - he SHOULD 2-3 shots you just click more and move when he casts hes spells.

Also... if his Energy Shield is a problem - use CHAOS DAMAGE (viper strike) - this skill bypasses Energy Shield.

You can skip him until later - the fairytale general is an optional boss designed to face-down blunt-melee wielders who don't have access to chaos damage.
- However, you'll able to stun him more once his ES is down. His life is much lower than ES.
- You can take a sword and borrow a viper strike gem. Or an bow and borrow poison arrow.
- Party up.

I fought him at lvl 35 with 75% fire resists, aside from his molten shell explosions which forced me to use a bubbling flask, he essentially did no damage to me.

No kiting, facetanked, average hp regen gear + Golem's Blood.

Yea with 60+ Fire Res he is easy i think. Crit from Shield explosion hurts anyway. :)

And on this stage of Act3 you SHOULD have 60+ Fire Res with easy (its to OP).

The game wasn't design for you to cake walk everything and never die. Some stuff is going to be hard and you have to come up with a strat to overcome it.

Grab some fire resist or just skip him and do it later since he is optional.

RESISTS!!!! 850 hp is plenty for him at that stage.
