How to kill Dominus' First Form?

So I just got back soloing Dominus on my new 68 Scion.

His 2nd form was laughably easy. My life leech, regen, and bleed flasks easily took him down within a minute.

The problem I had was with his 1st form, requiring me to do FIVE corpse runs, well, I had teleports up thankfully.

I was wondering how to successfully take down this first form without dieing.

I was using Lightening Resist flasks and they kind of helped. The problem here is that his ghost beam thing erupts really fast and I usually lose 1/2 my health before I can hit "4" and, even then, half the time I have to leap slam away and run around before landing a hit or two and repeating.

His touch of god also seems to smash faster than I can respond. As soon as I see his tells, I hit leap slam. But half the time he still hits me while I'm well outside of range (desync, thank you) and the other half it happens too fast. There was a time he actually used two of them within a second so that I got hit by 2 hand of gods and I died. :c

This isn't a complaint. I really enjoyed this challenge of finally soloing Dominus on Merciless difficulty using a character that's not my Necro. I'm just wondering if there are any tips from Dom farmers.

Your best bet is to just take cover when he is about to use his ghost beam. Or you can run around him, and you will barely get hit. The ghost beam is only deadly if you try to tank it without spell block and 77+ lit res. Getting hit once or twice will not kill you.

Yeah I was trying to do that. I wish GGG would remove the rain, it's tanking my FPS which makes it harder.

I guess I should start putting more points into attack speed so I have larger widows to leap away. right now i'm always in the middle of an attack when the "tell" starts.

If you can't dodge the first form attacks you are kind of slow reflexed. I can in a 200ms connection dodge all lights of divinity and the "stream" is pretty darn easy too as long as you circle around him. Are you really paying attention to what Dominus does? It looks to me that you wait for the stream to begin to react to it and that either you are kind of slow reflexed to dodge the light of divinity or that your character has sever movement speed issues.

Also, as a side note, it seems you are forgetting you can use 2 sets of weapons and can swap between them by pressing x (or whatever you set it up to), this can allow you to use a two handed and still use spell block on Saffell's flame plus the max resist is also nice, you would be taking 40%+ less damage from it

1. Do not leap slam from his "DA TOUCH OF GOD!". I belive, PoE doesn't calculate your position during jump (or the calculation is extremely bad). Hence almost always you are being hit by touch of god in the midair. Just casualy walk away :) It helps, really.

2. During lightning stream attack run around him and go hit him when the attack is almost (!) over.

3. In general, if you can't facetank him, it's better to use availiable ranged attack instead of melee. For example, spectral throw is very good for physical two-handers. Also I find Fire Trap and Bear Trap being amazing for killing the first form of Dominus. He doesn't run around a lot. So let him burn in awe!

Because you can't stop an attack after you start it and even though multistrike is fast, it still takes about twice as long to complete as a non multistrike attack. Those are valuable miliseconds that you lose and will get you hit by DA TOUCH OF GOD. It also autotargets and since the minions will be running up on you you will turn away from dom to hit one and that is bad.

Multistrike is not good for this encounter. Also 68 is really, really low to be soloing dom.
