Seperate Monitor Support?
I would like to see a game with dedicated features for a second monitor. Current games have all sorts of additional optional content for people with crazy-expensive things like 3D capability or two graphics cards for advanced physics... but I would just like to dedicate an off-hand monitor to a not-so-minimap and inventory. I wouldn't even care if I could move my mouse to that part of the screen or interact with it outside hotkeys... just seems like 2 monitors is a common and cheap expansion most budget gamers I know could achieve or already posses that no one utilizes well.

PS: If you're not a dev do not bother listing all the reasons they won't or can't do it. I'm not a coder, and if it's not feasible, it's not feasible.

Having a 2nd monitor with chat, character stats and inventory open would be cool (though i haven't a 2nd monitor atm).
But i suppose if GGGs decide to implement this, it will be at the very end of the production cycle... | |
I think Total Annihilation 2 was the only game I've played that had a significant use for a second monitor, it would be nice to see it with some functionality. A busted-ass old CRT would add more to a gamer's experience than buying a 200-300 dollar graphics card upgrade on a game like this.

This is interesting idea indeed, we have already seen (example.) logitechs G15 keyboard little monitor to give some added info in many games.
For your idea i would add on the extra monitor the whole Map, maybe a little detailed one, or the same what everyone gets. Also seeing your stats (melee crit spell crit, evasions would also be nice to see.) to actually have idea of the amount when you have some buff on or so. What happens atleast once in 60 minutes?

I'd love this. Most gamers already have multiple monitors it's only a natural move.

In games ive been working on, I've been playing with multi monitor support, its a pain in the ass as you have to have two primary graphic threads or processes. Sub threads for graphics is annoying enough.
However, as I use 2-3 monitors, I want it :P | |
I figured from a programming aspect it would probably be fairly complicated, but it's something I would think they should contemplate now, before they have a UI finalized. I think just having the minimap blown up and your inventory and/or character sheet up would be useful without being unbalancing.
