Proposed Tournament System
I think this game could really benefit from such competition. While races are a skill set people can utilize to gain currency, why couldn't there be a tourny system that does the same, but for player combat?
These can be automatic or function like races do now, where Que's open at specific times. Example: 2v2 64 Double Elimination Team Tournament When Queing players should be transported to an area that prevents them for accessing stash, as well as not accessing the Passive Skill Tree. This promotes fair play, and a consistent metagame. Once in Que, players will compete against one another each round as with traditional bracket tournaments. Upon losing, your team is sent to the losers bracket, where you will continue to compete until you lose and are eliminated, or play the winner of the winners bracket. Prizing would be based entirely on participation, and realistically, it could be rather low given the time invested. The majority of us wouldn't worry a whole lot about prizing. 1st: 15 random currency each 2nd: 10 random currency each 3rd: 7 random currency each 4-8th: 5 random currency each A 32 person event would roughly take an hour for people in prizing. Prizes are proportionate to the prizes given for time invested in standard races and surviving. How hard this would be to encode into the system is another question entirely. I imagine it wouldn't be extremely difficult, and would go a long way promoting this game towards newer market demographics. Chitus: Emperor of Wraeclast.
