Buying from vendors is aggravating.

First off, i browsed through several vendor threads, but none really were about this, so much as about *should sell this, *sell all that, etc etc.

Ok, im a farmer, its what i do. Nothing thrills me more than rerunning the Dread Thicket 4.666.777.345 times in a row O.o The problem is, that currently these vendors in game, well they kinda remind of of playing FF1. They're archaeic at the very best, and can barely do their jobs, to the point of that it frustrates the fuck out of me.

Its awsome that GGG has recently added the option to ctrl + click sell items, but the real problem is on the other side of things. Buying is a total joke.

Recently i had about 500 Whetstones i needed to clear out, cause they were just gettin stupidly stockpiled, and i decided best bet would be to upgrade as far up the currency chain as i could. The return for wisdoms on whetstones was well worth the trade in, or so i thought. but than i added up the time i sat at a vendor buying ONE SINGLE SCROLL at a time, over and over, from portals, to trans, to aug, to alts, to jeweller orbs etc etc.

Anyone that has gone through this procedure will know exactly what im talkin about. I also realise most people wont do this, thats fine, but theres those old critchety misers like myself that want ever pennies worth of return we can get.

I BEG YOU GGG for the love of freakin god, fix this horrible system BEFORE open beta. It might seem trivial, but it really makes me almost wanna quit, and take a break... a LONG break (probably a good thing - considering the time i spend in front of this game - who am i kidding, this wont happen).

But yea , in summary - 1 hr at a vendor is NOT fun in the slightest.

Cheers.

I agree. Especially when you can't stack the newly bought items on each other so you are spending as much time buying as you are figuring where to place it. Perhaps a shift click implementation should be in the store to select how many to buy and auto stack it.
Hah. I knew there was only a select few individuals that would be driven absolutely bat shit by this design, but really people. Only two of us? I cant believe only 2 of us are bothered by this, considering how many people i see in game cursing the vendors.

BTW - for all my efforts and time at the vendor, it amounted to 4 jeweller orbs... All that fucking time at a vendor for 4 jeweller orbs. This needs to be fixed.

O well, quick bump and complain moment.

Cheers.

I hope this gets changed soon. I turned about 1k alts into fusings one time (the failed mission to make a 6l marohi) and I wanted to end my life half way through. I would even love it if I could just sell all the alts to get jewelers, then sell all the jewelers for fusings. If the number isn't right just give a scroll frag for each one I'm over so I can just pull the odd bunch out.

Finished 18th in Torment/Bloodline 1mo Race - peaked at 9th

I think I'd rather eat glass or shoot up with hydrochloric acid than to put myself through that, Moose. Much respect. lol
Yeah this is awful. I am in the same boat as you guys. I have sat there, before you could just keep buying them and had to close the window every time, and used about 400 alterations and 100 jewelers to make fusing orbs. Luckily though when I play I typically have a video going to help me not want to commit murder due to the absurdity of having to click each time. Not being able to stack items as you buy them is a real pain as well.

I am hoping GGG plans to address this issue by allowing us to buy bulk quantities soon. They did finally stop us from having to close the buy window and reopen every time we wanted to buy another item which was a step in the right direction.

Can't imagine doing what you guys endured. Converting a stack of Wisdoms to other orbs is already a pain.

Since buying stuff is already linked to your stash, I hope we can have a shift+click slider that calculates how many orbs you can buy based on your stash holdings.

Much agreed. I haven't had the wealth to craft as much as some, But even when i did need to change up currency a little bit, I was annoyed by the way this currently works. I consider this more than just mere polish, as well.

I liked the old way, where you had to close down and reopen the trade menu for every single orb transaction. Someone would come into global and be all "I hate you guys! I really really do! Also, urmomisfat." and I'd be like "Aww, you just converted stacks of orbs into fuse didn't you." And then they'd start sobbing uncontrollably.

Disclaimer: Epsi informed me that there is never such a thing as obvious irony. You have been warned.

Really though, what we have now is a vast improvement to what we had before. I can seriously sleep better at night now. It definitely still needs improvement though. I'm pretty sure GGG realized how sadistic their trade system was when they responded to our feedback the first time, and realize it is still in need of further improvement.

I don't think straight vendor crafting is the solution, as that could potentially preclude using those orbs in future recipes. But on the other hand I also think that since we have the system in place, it should be used instead of quantity sale input, or slider bars, or whatever the alternative might be. Perhaps when selling orbs with along with a single scroll shard (to identify (hehe, geddit?) the sale as being unique to orb transfer) each stack would be converted to their next level in the sale chain. I think a scroll shard would be the best identifier, if you don't have one, its easy to acquire, and otherwise serves no other purpose being sold.

Edit: Another thought crossed my mind as soon as I pressed post. Why even use scroll shards? Just create a new orb that is sold for free from the vendor, and serves no other purpose than to facilitate the exchange. I mean, that is assuming that the reason this hasn't already been added as vendor craft, is because it would preclude using those orbs in other recipes.

The way vendors currently work they could be taken out of the game and it honestly would have a minor impact on the game. Mostly selling recipes. Why does an act 2 merciless vendor only have a single ES chest for sale that is level 28? When I'm level 67!

I don't like the "vendors only update when you level"

That doesn't seem to fit the rng of the entire rest of the game. I'm sure its been suggested before but they should change every time you exit town.

Also spent close to 30 minutes upping transmutes to alts and ended up with 7 alts
