Spectral throw best leveling tool for any build?

Nomatter what build I make...
Nothing beats 2 handed spectral throw in kill speed and efficiency.

Up to act 3 normal - maybe even further, even with zero investment in spectral throw, absolutely nothing comes even close to 2H spectral throw clearing speed.

I went caster builds, melee builds... but nomatter what I intended with these I end up using ST lol.

100DPS icespear build? With all nodes in 100%+spelldamage?
Switch to ST - instant 300dps obliteration - zero nodes that helps ST etc.

Anyone else have this luxury problem? :P

im going to agree.

spectral throw + early game unique weapons is pretty silly. i dont even level up the damn gem, it just sits with my uniques for when a new exile needs it.

the issue is ST being super mana efficient.

I agree. There are some very low level 2handed uniques that really helps. Best thing is I don't have to move much when entering new room, stay at the door and throw away.

If you talking about leveling i can make the assumption that you already have some uniques and currency and everything?

I can see ST for melee top notch leveling skill.

Bow users not so. Some good low level rings with ele damage and a good bow will rush you trough everything early on better then ST. Mostly because bow skills are AoE already and scale nice with bow skills while ST need lmp.

Caster builds.. yeah well they suck mostly till level 20ish (until you get FP + lmp for example).. then it´s no competition anymore.

i've already had my facebreaker-leveling set up before Spectral Throw came into the picture. Had an opportunity to compare them side by side - with all the common build-enabling 2H weapons. i was wondering if ST would become my new leveling setup.

Well the short answer is no. ST is decent, but the FB-setup way does more than double AOE damage and levels a lot faster. YMMV.

I'll take a facebreaker and a couple iron rings for leveling new characters over ST. Maybe ST up til lvl 19, but after that, nah.

id agree that FB is faster. but meginords cost a kidney now. should be considerd too

Why would you need Meginord to clear Normal/Cruel?

yeah been trying to get one for ages. i don't have a meginord's, but my FB is still doing 2.5k-3.5k aoe, enough to one-shot white mobs up to level 50 or so. Still way faster than Spectral Throw, from my limited testing experience.
