Why should I join garena PoE for SEA and not just play the international server?

it will be a different world than international, aka different server fresh start.

the server connection might be better if you are in asia.

Different server connectivity as different service, I imagine.

That should be it by principle. However I don't know how long they need to localize the game in various languages if they choose to do this. Depending on this there might be a delay in patches available?

What's the SG gateway for again?

I will be so mad if they take away the SG gateway from the game I'm currently playing. I'll happily party on any gateway except EU, but I get the best ping here.

The good thing is you won't join a public game than end up with 1000+ ping

I can imagine however that Steam will only incorporate the Garena server in their service.
This was the reason for this publishing deal in the first place, me thinks.

Games with a variety of publishers to choose from have always had issues. Some patch earlier than others, some don't patch at all. We don't know what's going to happen with this game. It's new territory. I hope for the best, but don't plan for it.

Worst case is Hellgate London, and Flagship's debacle. Look that one up.

Right now, 99% of the time I go party, I'd have to play with US/EU playesr and got 400+ ping.

Though it doesn't me I'd move there since I have already invested quite a few, unless they have a account migration / transfer program :P

Anyway, I guess I'd prefer staying here.

And about the patching, I'd guess, at best, GGG will make the server 1 minor patch behind. To prevent having to deploy a hotfix here and there every a couple of day.
