PoE broke me for other RPGs :(

I've tried some other RPG games recently and in every one of them I really wanted to be able to customise my character much more than they allowed. Almost all the choices felt very inconsequential, when compared to what PoE offers.

And PoE is too damn hard for the casual me ;/ which frustrates me to no end since I want to play it ;/

Just... Play. You aren't forced to participate in mapping, which is when it actually becomes difficult.

PoE is more of a marathon than a sprint for casuals. It takes some time to get any where, but it's not impossible. With the skill tree the learning curve is a bit steep, but once a person gets the hang of it, there'll be little need to learn how it works for other characters.

Yeah. My first character was me just learning generic things about the game and getting a feel for it. My 2nd character I made I was really try to push and learn all the game mechanics to optimize my character. I think the key is constantly trying to learn new things and understand the mechanics of the game as well as you possibly can.

It takes about 3-4 char to really get the hang of building.

So far everything I build can't get past piety or dominus on cruel. I've had PoE on my computer for over a year now. I have a lvl 68 character that was super weak before 1.0 and now is completely broken due to some changes in the skill tree. I'm pretty bad at games, I have to admit :D


I'm not saying 'make the game easier', nor do I expect it. PoE is awesome as it is.

PoE is a great game, currently best of arpg genre. Try GD as well, it's as good, but in a different (old fashioned) way.
