Power Charge on Crit not Working with Traps?

Hello everyone.

Fast question. I am leveling a shadow, hoping to utilize the trap skills.
I linked a "power charge on crit" support gem to my fire trap skill. The only problem is that it doesn't seem to proc any charges.

Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

Trap is a remote skill, even though it utilizes your passives to cast the effect, trap entity is still the source of them so it would generate charges, leech or reflect damage to itself, not to you, just like totems.

I guess it technically can generate them but can't hold them having max power charges limit of 0, totems have that too. And even if trap could hold them it gets destroyed in the process.

Its because your not doing the damage directly the traps are,same reason totems and summons don't get charges from attacking.
