Does "xx% increased critical strike chance"work on spells
Does "xx% increased critical strike chance"work on spells?
Passive skill tress Some skill marks "xx% increased critical strike chance"; and some marks "xx% increased critical strike chance for spell" I wonder if "xx% increased critical strike chance" works on ALL TYPE including spell、melee and range? And "xx% increased critical strike chance for spell" works on spell ONLY. Somebody help! thanks! |

" Not strictly true. OP, if the item is a weapon then the mod "xx% increased critical strike chance" applies to the base crit of the item. For example if the item is a wand the crit for WAND ATTACKS will have an increased crit chance. This will not apply to spells For example this wand Has the mod "Increased Critical Strike Chance", which will not apply to spells. The two crit mods you are looking for are "Increased Critical Strike Chance for Spells" and "Increased Global Critical Strike Chance" Another example This dagger will grant 80% increased crit chance for spells (from the global mod) and nothing from the "Increased Critical Strike Chance" mod. Hope this helps. |

1st off, sorry for the necro. I google searched and this thread popped up.
I would like a little more clarification. While I understood turzyx's explanation on local weapon crit % not being applied to spells, does the "xx% increased critical strike chance" from the passive tree affect spells? Kirielis says "it works" but turzyx said "not true". Edit: also for things like "xx% increased critical strike chance with one-handed melee weapons" works only for attacks and not spells, correct? " Yes. " I think that as long as you're using a one handed melee weapon, spells and attacks get the %increased critical strike chance. Not 100% sure though. |

" If the description restricts the scope saying "xx% increased critical strike chance with one-handed melee weapons/daggers/claws/bows..." then only the base crit of said weapons will be increased. The wording is crucial here: Serpent Stance says "increased global critical strike chance while wielding a staff". This is applied to everything (spells, attacks) as long as a staff is in your primary weapon slot. Last edited by Bada_Bing#4191 on Jun 23, 2014, 8:37:43 AM

If passive says "30% increased Critical Strike Chance with Wands" and it doesn't say global, does it mean that it's useless with spells?
