Anyone can tell me how to calculate dps

Any one know the way to calculate dps of a weapon, not simply (min+max)/2. I want to know how to calculate them from a white item
EG
if i had: 200% IPD/ +10- 20 Flat physical?
PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU KNOW, tyvm for your time

What's wrong with (min+max)/2?

In any case, all you need to do to calculate DPS is recall some logic from your last math class, preferably algebra or higher.

Assuming you listed IPD correctly and have no crit or attack speed nodes but very high accuracy, your tooltip DPS for a normal attack with that item should be about 152.412984

My work:
20+10 = 30 = min damage per hit
79+20 = 99 = max damage per hit
(30+99)/2*2.00 = 129 = expected damage per hit
0.0728*64.5 = 4.6956 = expected crit bonus damage per hit
(129+4.6956)*1.2 (hits per second) = 160.43472 = expected truehit damage per second
160.43472 * 0.95 (max chance to hit) = 152.412984 = expected damage per second, assuming very high accuracy
(plug this into google with whatever your chance to hit is instead of 0.95 and you can find out a more accurate tooltip DPS)
(if you have crit or attack speed nodes you must factor those into the calculations above)

All you need to know is that flat bonuses are added before multiplicative ones.

HOWEVER whenever people say "DPS of a weapon," they usually just mean (min+max)/2*attackspersecond and ignore crit/accuracy.

People literally just use (min+max)/2*attackspeed for weapon DPS.

Not sure why you'd want any other type of calculation. If you mouse over a skill on the skill bar, or click on it on the character sheet (when pressing C), the game automatically does the calculations above for you.

Just for fun, your weapon DPS: (20+79)/2*1.2 = 59.4

im reading your reply and ton of thanks thanks and thanks sir!!!
you r awesome. There is nothing wrong with (min+max)/2 I just want to know how can i calculate max dps i can have if i get xx% IPD/ and+ xx- yy flat PD on a white craft base item. Exactly i want to know how will the dps is if i can divine this
up to 233% IPD and +18- 32 PD :P
Again tyvm for quick replying sir! Nice day.

Ahhh, I see. Makes more sense to me now. (I didn't realize you were talking about mods with IPD/flat damage! Sorry!)

Well, in case it wasn't absolutely clear:

To find weapon DPS with % IPD /flat damage mods:

first:
add all minimum and maximum damage mods (base, then flat damage from mod)
divide by 2
multiply by the %IPD
multiply by the attacks per second
(multiply by the % attacks per second from mod if there is one)
=
weapon DPS with mods

Dagger from your OP "weapon DPS with potential 200% IPD and 10-20 flat physical damage":
154.8

So weapon DPS for the dagger from your OP would change from 59.4 to 154.8 with a 200% IPD mod and 10-20 flat physical damage mod

Work:
(20+79+10+20)/2*2.00*1.2 = 154.8
(min + max + min + max) /2-for-average * 200% ipd * 1.2 attacks per second

Hope that was even more helpful :D

Im doing the math with a white eternal sword

One Handed Sword
Physical Damage: 30-49
Critical Strike Chance: 5%
Attacks per Second: 1.6
Requires Level 66, 104 Str, 122 Dex
18% increased Accuracy Rating

white base Min/ max physical is 30-49

(30+49+14+29)/ 2 * 2.05 * 2 * 1.2 = 300.12 Where was i wrong there >_<
1.2 from blacksmith

Exactly how it is 143- 254 there with 205% IPD and + 14- 29 PD :3

Minimum damage
[ 30(from base damage) + 14(from physical damage mod) ] x 20% = 8.8 (increased damage from blacksmith)
[30+ 14] x [1+ 205%] = 134.2
Minimum damage = 134.2 + 8.8 = 143

Maximum damage
[ 49(from base damage) + 29(from physical damage mod) ] x 20% = 15.6 (increased damage from blacksmith)
[49+ 29] x [1+ 205%] = 237.9
Maximum damage = 237.9 + 15.6 = 253.5
