Mouse disconnecting.

During the stress test I encountered an unusual bug that caused my mouse to disconnect from my computer at least a hundred times.

The basis, my computer specs:
i7 2500k
16gb ram
Nvidia GTX570
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Logitech G9x mouse

Randomly during the stress test my mouse would disconnect from my computer as if windows viewed it as being unplugged even though it never was.

After checking drivers for both the mouse and the motherboard, I checked the software for the mouse and everything was running perfectly. So I focused on playing through the disconnects hoping it was a bug that would fix itself but it never did. Toward the end of the stress test I began to notice a reoccurring trend. Almost every time I opened up any of the vendor menus or the stash at the Forest Encampment my mouse would disconnect for about 3-5 seconds and then reconnect and the game would lag a little when it did. It would continue to do this for as long as I was in the Forest Encampment. In normal zones there seemed to be no rhyme or reason for disconnecting but it still happened. The Mouse would disconnect for 3-5 seconds and do so on and off for about 5-10 minutes and then everything would be perfectly fine.
Performance wise the game ran flawlessly for the entire time except for when the mouse disconnected.

I was running the game at the following settings:
Windowed Fullscreen
1920x1080
vsync on
Variance Shadow Mapping
AA Quality off
Texture Quality high
Texture Filtering 2x
Post Processing on
Screen Shake off

During the stress test I had no problems with my mouse outside of the PoE client.

Unfortunately we don't have one of these mice to test with. I can only imagine there is some incompatibility between the mouse software and the game. Is it possible to disable the mouse software and just use it as a plain mouse? If possible please try this and see if the problem goes away.
Ok, after a day away from the stress test it seems to be a problem with my mouse and not the game. I guess it just started while I was playing and I played a little too much and killed my mouse. Sorry for any trouble I may have caused with this wasted post. I do not have closed beta access but I thought the game was great for how much I got to play. Can't wait for open beta keep up the good work!

I am having one of those problems aswell.

AND IT IS NOT THE MOUSE, it is the software, since the mouse worked jolly fine for two years without doing anything remotely similar to a plug/unplug.

As I said, I use my computer daily, several hours per day and the mouse disconnect happen only in POE.

G500 Logitech without any drivers installed (default HID driver) that is shipped with the OS.

Not only that, the mouse stops responding ingame, (while connected) on a regular basis.

All this started happening after the last 2 patches. (v0.10.x)

I think I will need to forensically check what the game really does, what files it accesses, what get injected into its memory space and what it inject into other memory spaces.

A disconnect on a software level can only be done if the software doing that is having low level access to drivers and memory of other processes (which are in place there for the hardware to work at all), which would be an equivalent of what a trojan/virus/malware does.

Hope you fix it. Because I sure as hell will not - nothing wrong with the pc/os/peripherals.

Best regards
This doesn't seem like a common issue, but as iv'e found it here I am, having these same problems with a razer lachesis mouse. Same as the last comment, mouse works fine outside of PoE with lots of use, and then when in PoE it randomly and frequently stops tracking (the left, right and scroll buttons continue to work) until I unplug and plug back in the mouse. And if I don't unplug it and plug it back in and shut down PoE it continues to not work outside of the game. After reinstalling the device software and then removing the device software and drivers the issue still persists. I would also like to add that for the last few days I have been playing PoE without incidence (and previously have played without any issues with the same mouse) but since last night it has been the bane of play.
So i had the same Problems 3-4weeks ago...

while playing PoE my Mouse (3year old Logitech g9x) started disconnecting.
(Usb Unplugsound was played 2-3sec later usb pluginsound was played and Mouse worked again)

First it happend only while i was playing.
Later it started to happen while i was on my desktop.
I noticed that it didnt happen while my Pc was idleing.

so tried all the software things...
Updated Windows and Mousedrivers
and i tried the energysettings (Always Power On Usb) or something like that
but nothing helped.

Last week i bought a new mouse (MadCatz R.a.t.TE)
And the Disconnects are gone.

So yeah i think i killed my mouse too :D

so i would recommend to test another mouse.

EDIT: So wait... Everyone here had/have Problems using or used Logitech mouses and Logitech Gaming Software?? it could be some software related bugs...

Same issue here, Logitech G700s... Looking for a solution.
Just bumping this thread. As of 3.1 my Logitech G9x will randomly disconnect/reconnect only while playing Path of Exile. I can't find any solutions but the G9x has this issue elsewhere.
I recentley changed mouse to a Xtryfy MZ1, the mouse keept DCing from the USB port pretty often every 3-5min ish. Only happened in PoE.

I was dabbeling around in options, and realised that under Input there was now a checkbox for auto input detection. I unchecked it and so far its been working fine (50 min ish 0 mouse dcs).

I had problems with mouse disconnects in DOTA2.
It was caused by high poll rate.
250hz is more than enough guys, do not make it 1000 or higher :D
