About bear trap.
Could anyone explain why culling strike is good on bear trap?

"because its one of the few things that actually increases the damage of beartrap. also, the reduced casting speed does not affect your trap laying speed + it adds cullingstrike to the trap whats not to love? Last edited by fsg#3483 on Jul 30, 2013, 5:15:03 AM

You want the culling strike to get the killing blow. You add IIR and IIQ gems to make your target turn into a loot piñata.

" doesn't added fire dmg & melee physical dmg work with the trap as well? IGN

Added fire works for sure, but I think MPD doesn't,can't be.

Bear Trap isn't melee, so Melee Physical Damage doesn't work with it.

Question:
Assuming I only have a 3L option for my bear trap (my chest armor and the 3 4L armor pieces are already spoken for, so this is either shield or weapon) Should I co with Beartrap, IIR, and IIQ; should I replace either IIR or IIQ with culling; or should I just go full damage with Beartrap, Added Fire Damage, and Culling? #1 rule of official forum boards of every video game ever: use the forums to relay info, gather suggestions, or the rare narrow-focused Poll; but NEVER as "feedback".
#2 rule: Never say the #1 rule in an official capacity. Let some guy on the forums say it, leaving yourself plausible deniability. |

Last option is the best (added/culling),and maybe the only possible effective one,if a dmg output is the target.Don't count on bear trap alone, with no dmg supports, to have enough powers to kill alot so you can benefit from IIQ/IIR.Bear trap serves another purpose,to lock and immobilize a single enemy,it is not supposed to kill it,maybe just to damage it,especially fat mobs on higher difficulties.
Or you can still use culling/IIQ/IIR to hunt bosses with it and wait for trap to kill, but it's risky and boring. This is a buff © 2016 The Experts ™ 2017 Last edited by torturo#7228 on Jul 30, 2013, 8:44:37 AM
