Best class?

I downloaded PoE in February but ended up not getting around to it. I am currently patching to give it a try, what is the best class? I think the idea of a templar is pretty sweet especially with the AoE dmg I am seeing posts about.

Which class is highest dps?

Which class survives the best?

Which class is best for pvp (If there is any?)?

Classes aren't as straightforward and restrictive as you're assuming. All classes can use all abilities and gear. You choose your abilities first, and then decide what class will work with them the best. Your class mainly just determines where you start on the passive tree.

Is there respec's in this game? If I choose an ability and end up not liking the path i took down the road, is it possible to get my points back and redistribute them?

Right now Duelist and Templar are strongest. Ranger is weakest. Tho all classes can kick ass if played well.

As you play, quests will give you a small amount of 'refund points', which you can use to unspend skill points you've already spent. You can also do so with the (rather expensive) orbs of regret. There is no 'full character reset', though. If you make too many mistakes or too big of a mistake you'll be better off making a new character.

Active skills can be used by anyone and just have stat/level requirements. Your class determines your starting stats and where you start on the passive skill tree, but all classes share the same skill tree. This will allow you to work towards whatever skills on the skill tree you want as any class.
